We presently have comcast phone service but they are discontinuing this general type to upgrade to Comcast Digital Voice..Just wondering if any one else is in the same boat having to do the upgrade..They have a deal for 19.99 for six months after that it is 39.95 and up.We presently pay only 22.00 per month ..Just wondering what happens after 6 months and I don't want to pay the 39.00 and up?? Anyone else use Comcast phone service??

I have comcast digital voice. I actually hate paying the upwards of $40 a month for it because we rarely use it BUT we wanted a home phone with 911 capabilities we trust for the house and this way, people can look us up in the phone book. Before that we were with strickly cell phone. I don't think Comcsst offers any "less" service if you don't want to continue. Basically, it's an all in one package and you have to pay for it if you use it all or not. Kind of sucks but proabably 90% of their customers would get it all anyways so it's easier to just say it's one package

Have you packaged this with cable and internet?? If so what did you get (ie speed of internet and type of cable package) and cost for it?? Thanks..

yes, we got a special for the digital voice since we were new customers

Standard cable w/preferred pkg and DVR $75.39
High Speed internet: $42.95
Digital Voice: $42.95 (and that includes a $3.00 per month modem rental)
total bill per month is $171 or so with taxes. It seems awful high to me BUT when I was going to do Qwest for the basic phone...no options, it was over $30 so another $12 for all the features isn't too bad plus we paid over $12 more for internet and cable without the phone (you get discounts).

I get to write the internet and phone off on my business so it works for us. If I couldn't, we wouldn't have all preferred cable (although I know have grown to love my DVR)
