Need your help guys in NJ FOUND A HOME :)

Hi guys,
OK I know I can count on someone here at these boards, you have never let me down yet.

I live in Northern NJ, a kitten 4 months old, walked into my basement.
I have a photo of her. I have posted her on the net, radio, newspapers, flyers in every mailbox on my road and around, flyers in local stores, post office, not one call on her, we do not know where she came from. Please do not hate me, she has to go to a shelter this weekend. I have five cats already, one is in kidney failure with an enlarged heart and major thyroid problems too, two others major arthritis and on meds, please I need to hand her to a person, not a shelter.

Please email me at: tillyd200@yahoo.com

THURSDAY, SHE FOUND A HOME, a good loving family she is going to, thanks you guys for all the replies and for not bashing it's still hard for me to hand her over but I know she will be loved and warm still not tossed outside like who ever did it to her in the first place. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Josie said thanks too, her new name

I had a small cat (just beyond a kitten) walk in on me once. I also placed ad after ad while feeding her outside on my step. A few weeks into all of this, I noticed she had a bit of swelling near her middle. Convinced she had cancer, I took her to the vet. He seemed quite amused while telling me that I had not one stray kitty but... potentially six more. He agreed to find homes for all of the kittens if I agreed to take her through her maternity.

She had six kittens. (Not a great addition to a family where everyone is allergic to cats and I, myself was pregnant). We found a good home for every kitten. We took mama cat to the shelter and had them assign her a number. We offered to pay to have her spayed. We told her that we did NOT want her put down under any circumstance. They called one day later to tell us that she had been adopted by a very loving family.

The shelters in our area are very accomodating. Shelter workers really care for the animals. If you can't find anyone to actually hand this kitty over to, I wouldn't feel too bad dropping her off. God bless. You've got to be a wonderful person to take her in... but as I found out the hard way, there are limits to what we can handle.

Thank you for the understanding, I am just waiting to get 'bashed' as to why not one more and if the others are old and sick, but thanks for the understanding.

Sorry I can't help, I am allergic to cats. I did want to ask if you posted it on Freecycle since I haven't seen him on there and I subscribe to the emails? That seems to be a good place to try? If you don't do freecycle, I can post it for you if you want? PM me if I can help.

No kittycats here, but you could try Craigslist too. If you have to take it to the shelter, you can't beat yourself up. You're doing what you can, but the responsibility lies with the fools who allow their cats to roam and have constant litters.

Good luck.

Thanks !!!! I will post on freecycle, but sometimes I get bashed for 'giving' her away, but she is the one who walked into my garage. I am emailing with someone from craigs right now but I think I hurt his feelings by asking for a ref. but he offered in the first email.
Thanks again you guys !!!!

I had another thought... Petfinder.com Check it out. They have a classified section where you may enter a pet for adoption sorted by state.

Northern NJ here too. I have two dogs or else I would adopt your kitty. Please don't give the cat away to someone on Craigslist or the like. You have no idea what they may do with her. The Bergen- Ramapo animal refuge in Oakland is a no kill animal shelter. We adopted one of our dogs from them. They are a wonderful organization and I would suggest you bring the kitty there. Good luck!

Just curious about what bad things someone would do with a kitten gotten off of Craigslist? I'd think that someone who replied with good references would be a terrific option? But, maybe I don't know so please post.

Here's hoping you find a good home for kitty. I understand your reasons completely. I'm not in NJ and we have two with cat allergies in the house... sorry I can't help you out.

Thanks, I will try on petfinder too
Craigs list, well he offered ref's and when he said he would take her, I asked for a ref, he said, what do you think I will hurt her? and got all cranky. I do not want to watch the news and see her on TV Dead, I would not be able to live with myself. She had to go to the vet last night for a cough, so she is on meds. If I have to she will go to Room for One MOre in Sparta, they are a no kill. I will keep looking for a home for her, she does not ask for much at all, none of them do.
Thank you all for not bashing, I just want to hand her to a person not a shelter but I will foster her till someone takes the little stinker.

THanks !
