| Meteors Out Now
We have been going out for about 15 minutes for the last 2/3 hours and have seen about 20 meteors. Some are short lived but some a really pretty with long tails. We watched last night also but only saw a couple. Gave up fairly quickly. They are suppose to be even better Sunday and Monday nights. If you live in a fairly dark area you might want to check them out. It's pretty cool. Of course the kids think it's cool because I told them they could stay up all night just to see them. I decided to sneak in a few science lessons on them. I went to SkyandTelescope.com and downloaded the sky map. It shows what overhead at a specific time. So while we are watching we are learning were a few things are too. (Guess I should say we are trying to learn were a few things are, that's a big sky out there. LOL) Laura Last edited by MyTime; 08-12-2007 at 07:28 PM. Reason: To correct broken link. |

For years we would go out on these nights and lay on a flat bed trailer we had, on blankets and stay up as long as we could to watch. It was a family tradition. I forgot this year as I'm pretty much alone, and I don't thing that Little Faith would much care! lol It's awesome, but I think I'll be too afraid to be outside in the dark by myself. We live in the woods and I hear all kinds of things at night!
