Usually we ride the bike together all summer, but with my surgery in May, the van wreck in July I *may* be released to do that by next summer...
We enjoy going dancing, out to eat at least once a week, slipping up to the pool by ourselves, going to the shooting range, he LOVES to bargain shop and loves to shop for clothes for me..lol...so I am very very lucky there... We go to thrift stores together..we like to get together with friends and play cards etc...all this is liimited though because he has worked nite shift for over 9 years and he works 3 on and 3 off, so most people are off on wknds and he only gets 3 wknds in a row every other month, so most of the things we do together is actually during the week which helps on the couple thing, is just super hard to meet anyone else to go out to eat or something like that.

we find when we go out we don't know what to do....I think we have been out 2 times in the last 3 years w/o any kids......we went out to eat and saw a movie, and barely said boo to each other......it was pathetic!

we are both homebodies so are favorite things to do are at home........

We love to watch college football together, we are both huge OSU Buckeye fans, so much so that we have a daughter names after the school colors, Scarlett-Ann Greye. We have the most fun doing this, I really am not looking forward to this season, since he will be heading back to Iraq in middle of it, then I feel like I can't watch the games, feels like I'm doing something wrong since he can't see them too....

I really think I would love nothing more then a night home with Dh with no kids......Just sitting and cuddling without someone yelling Mom would WONDERFUL, but the chances of getting all 6 kids out of the house at the same time are slim to none......

We love football, esp Steelers Football!!!

We also work really well together so we often work on projects around the house today, such as finishing our basement and remodeling bathrooms. We have also taken vacations together without the boys and we are really due for another one soon.

Same here, we love Football, DH is a HUGE Steelers fan and I'm the biggest Chicago Bears fan! We both like each others team so we really enjoy Sundays after church coming home and watching football! We also go out to dinner, go to the movies in the middle of the day when DS is in school, going to the beach at night and just walk and talk, we got out a minimum of 3 times a month by ourselves. When we lived in South Dakota about twice a month we would go to falls park and have a picnic during the summers. Thats probably the only thing I miss about South Dakota, that and our friends

We square dance (and don't knock it till you've tried it!)
We travel.
We go shopiing .
We go to yard sales.

It is just the two of us now and we are retired so we do most everything together.

In the summer we like to get away on the weekends to cooler climes and have been making a point of seeing some of the sights that Arizona has to offer, which are many.
During the winter we do a lot of 4 wheeling. We have a group of friends that we get together and spend our weekends running trails and rockcrawling. Sometimes making them overnight runs with wildcat camping.
We are also are big fans of rock guitarists and try to catch as many concerts as time and money will allow.

My DH and I have a lot of time without our kids as we both share custody (his is 17, though, so that involves sharing custody with lots of friends mostly LOL). We spend almost all of our time together and rarely do anything non-couple. We travel by ourselves, but do sometimes find ourselves at a loss at home due to so much alone time together. We do see quite a few movies and we eat out a lot, but we don't enjoy doing a lot of the same things. I like to shop (yard sales, antiques, Target, whatever), but he doesn't. He likes to get REALLY muddy on our 4-wheelers (he'll go slower with me and tear it up with our neighbors). I love to cook and would really like it if he enjoyed it, too, but it's not his thing. We both enjoy taking our boat out to the lake, so we do that. We also both will work on home projects together like Darlene does, but I wouldn't say that we totally enjoy it. I don't mind them, but he's a "get it done" kind of guy. I'll eventually wish I would fall off the ladder so I can quit....

Now, we do LOVE our Cowboys football, so we're very excited about the season coming up. Actually, he's attaching all the wiring for the 50-inch plasma we just bought for the games. We also enjoy board games, cards, and dominos. We'll play Monopoly without any kids.... I usually think I wish we had more in common, but after reading this, it sounds like we do okay... Thanks for posting.

We usually go out to eat once a week. Nothing fancy, and this way I don't have to cook! LOL We both like Football. I'm a die hard Steelers fan and he's a die hard Eagles fan. Depending on the weather we go to the beach and just take a walk. We go to the mall occassionally, even if just to window shop.

Not a darn thing, isn't it sad. Everwhere we go we have 2 little tagalongs with us. We don't really have any babysitters, so we don't go out alone. The last time was when my Mom came for a visit, she watched them while we went out on the bike. I need relatives who take them overnight for a couple of days!

We have the luxury of having a son who is 12 1/2 who can be in charge of the youngest so that we can go out for an hour or so once in awhile... The day will come! Hang tight.

We did our first EVER overnighter together about a month ago. We went land hunting in the mountains... Now, we have found our dream land and are in the middle of purchasing it and so I think our old hobby will transform into working the land and getting some improvements done. We will absolutely love doing that too.

We also enjoy going out for breakfast (about a block away) on Saturday morning, going to a movie once in awhile, doing home improvements... we make a good team, and enjoy just visiting and talking with each other.

My DH truly is my best friend -- even after living through some incredibly difficult times together! Sometimes I didn't think that we'd make it. We have both matured and grown and we are both so blessed to have each other.

My DH and I love having other couples over that have kids - the kids play (they're mostly 8 or 9 and under) and we hang out with the parent friends of ours and eat appetizers and drink wine.

We also try to have a date once a month or so - we love tag sales, EATING, walking, and I can get him to shop with me a little.

We also love movies, but I like chick flicks and comedies, and he likes creepy stuff. So we have to compromise there.

At night when I am usually checking computer stuff, he does his own thing, but makes sure we're in the same room, so we can talk throughout the evening, too.

DH is in a band once per week, and I go out to my dance class once per week - that's also key for us!!

We like walking around Manhattan, eating out (but we def. need to cut down on that ), and being lazy at home.

When it's cool enough, we go geocaching and hiking. He's also taught me to shoot and I like that quite a lot, but it's not exactly the cheapest hobby.

We go out to breakfast too on Sunday mornings. Usually no one even knows we have been anywhere. I let them stay up as late as they want on Saturday nights and it never fails they sleep til noon on Sunday. So we use it to our advantage.

Flipper - If you were closer I would watch your kiddo's for ya. I know all about not having family around to babysit. Wish we were closer!

We are new empty nesters as of last week so we don't actually know how be do things alone yet. I retired last summer and DH will be retiring in Dec. This should be interesting and we're both looking forward to it. Presently we like to walk the dog and visit with neighbors. Yes, I know...it sounds boring but we're both pretty "low maintainance".
