I would definitely start with all of those nice things you said about the school system - how proud you are of it, etc. Then I would say that, in light of there being more and more parents who rely on the internet to stay connected with school activities/matters, you would like to make a suggestion that you feel would benefite the district - that the system have their website updated regularly. I would close the letter the same way you started it - by reminding the superintendent that you feel the school system is excellent, and that you are glad your children are a part of it. Good luck! |

yep, good luck! I have worded many nice letters to the same effect. Nothing is update...ever. We have school starting on Monday and last years info is still up: no new calendars, no lunch calendar, not listing of new teachers...nada

My experience has been that someone at the school takes a website class, gets excited about the school having a website, gets it up and running... and then there is no support staff trained to maintain it. Unless it's part of a greater information management plan, it's likely to continue to falter.
