Help, I screwed up my haircolor

I thought I would highlight my hair today. I screwed it up. I have medium brown hair, and I put a bleach type chemical on it, and I took it off to early, and now my hair is orange in spots. I have to go to work in the morning, and I am going to be so embarrassed. I went back to sallys beauty supply, and they sold me a temp color, but I left it on 30 min, and it didnt help. I still have orange. HELP quick. I work the next 4 days so I need something temp to put on it to hide it. I also need something to color it back to my normal color. What can I get that is not going to dry out my hair? OMG I am so embarrassed.

EEEK! This is why I don't bleach much. I always stripped one highlighted section to check for color and then re-apply color if it is still orangish. My guess would be you need to bleach it out more. Most haircolor has an 800# you can call, they might have ideas for you. Or check out the website for the color maker.

If all else fails there is always the option of wearing a hat.

Good luck, I hope you get it fixed.

I don't know what you could do. I would call a beautician (that doesn't look right) in the morning. Another option that I myself have used for something similar is a french braid. That might help you get through a day or so.

I wonder if you could use the Nice and Easy root touch up to touch up your orange spots?

The reason why it turned orange is because you took it off early. Bleach needs time to work and do what it is supposed to do. Darker hair has alot of red undertones in it, the first color it usually turns is usually a reddish, then orange, then golden...and so on.
Either you need to redo it, or put a darker color on (ash) to get rid of it. A semi-permant color doesn't always work...they fade out anyway. just make sure you don't get too dark of a color, then the problem will be even worse..lol

Good luck.

my daughter and her best friend dyed their hair right before they returned to college. my daughter looks like elviria! her hair was normally a light light brown and I dont know what she did but it turned out kinda pinkish orange and she got brown dye to cover it and now its BLACK! and I mean JET BLACK! kinda getting used to it. she said the heck with it , it would fade sooner or later.

I feel for you in this area I have dark hair and so many times the salon has taken the foils off my hair to EARLY and I hate running around with that Reddish or ORANGE look also.

For some reason some parts of my head turn the blonde and some are still in the orange stage.

Its the hardest thing to cover up and and takes too many months to fade out.

I have used that color stick from Sallys to put on the Orange stripes when the hair is dry.
It makes it a brown or a better color at least but this is a hassle depending on how many Pieces I have to work with.

This alot of extra work thats for sure.

Its also very hard for the Salon to refoil all them pieces to try to fix them. They never can get the same pieces each time.

I also get permanent color on my hair so when i go back in we color the ends for so many minutes.

it doesn't hold too many wks on me and the Orange is back but in time it does fade but to suffer till then it really SUCKS...

It all makes me mad I see so many women with Highlighted hair and it looks so great and I always wonder why can't mine be like that also.

I have tryed different salons and they all do the same crap to me they get in a big hurry and don't let my pieces turn.

Very few times was it done on me and it all looked fine.

I want highlighted hair so bad but I am scared anymore to get it done.

Good Luck

Your post reminds me of why I never try to go lighter shades any more... too many similar disasters that I've had to live out until they've grown out over the years.

I now try to use a box color that is just a touch darker shade than my own. It seems to help/

Sorry that I don't have anything to offer in regards to your current hair situation but do know that I feel for you.
