Do you experience from PMS? Help?

Do you suffer from PMS, specfically mood swings? I never used to until I had my kids and now I find my self saying terrible things during this time. Just wondering if you experience this and if so have you tried taking any medication to help? thanks!

I have bad pms when I don't take vitamins. When I take my vitamins regularly it helps to eliminate my pms quite a bit. Also taking B2 ,that I learned here at Mycoupons helps too. Also taking Ibuprohen "before" your pms starts is also very helpful.
Extra calcium helps a whole lot too!

Yes, about a week before and during, I'm horrible. I have terrible mood swings and just can't stand myself. Don't know how the family deals with me.

I've tried increasing my vitamins intake over the last year instead of being on the pill, as I was for years, but I find it's getting worse. Also, my periods are so heavy, I've slipped back into full blown anemia. I'm going back on the pill this month to combat those two problems.

My dr is not a pill pusher so he has been working with me to try to find an alternate solution. In my case, medication is going to be what is needed. Talk with your dr and see if you can find a plan that works for you. G/L!

One of my husband's friends told me to start taking B vitamins and vitamins E for period pain, because it helped her when she still had a uterus. I take a B6/B12/Folic acid tab daily, and found it helps my moods a lot. Mine are from Trader Joe's.

I don't have many suggestions, but suffered from the mood swings tremendously after having children - so if it's any consolation, you are definitely not alone!! I never had any cramps or headaches or other physical PMS symptoms, but boy I was such a witch....just got so bent-out-of-shape mad about everything the week before. I don't have that problem anymore, but it's been replaced by lots of other neat things like hot flashes and a chin hair here and there....LOL

I think the B vitamins help alot and don't have any nasty side effects, so worth a shot. The other thing that I found helpful is to enlist the help of husband and kids...have them call me on the behavioral stuff...try to nip it in the bud.

Does the fact that I want a divorce once a month count as PMS?

I have battled problems for years. Part of my problem was hormone imbalance. I've had 3 surgeries for ovarian cysts, the last resulting in them taking my right ovary out. I also have uterine fibroids which made my periods really heavy. I had the whole mood swing thing too. What I have found that helps me tremendously is NOT having a period at all. I used to take my BC pill continuously to avoid having any periods, per Dr. recommendation. Now I've been on the Depo shots for a few months and it is wonderful. No cramps, no bleeding, no mood swings.
