| Open doors w/air conditioning on
Noticed a truly irresponsible thing today. Boss gave me the day off, so i went to an outdoor outlet mall. While I didn't count, almost 1/2 of the stores had the doors propped open. Lest you think I am at the north pole, the temperature today was in the low 90's so this made no sense. would you: a) keep walking b) ask why c) shut the doors and keep walking d) ask at the facility mgr office why dl |

Open doors probably translate to more sales. If a customer walks by a store that has a cool breeze blowing from it, I'd bet they're more likely to slow down and say, "Let's go in here!" It wouldn't even occur to me to ask why. I figure if they took the time to prop the door open, they probably have a reason. |

This irritates me too. I just want to say hey, close your doors and lower your prices a bit, ha ha. I am guessing it's to get 'more' people in the door too though. That's what I've always thought anyway. But I do totally think it's very wasteful and it does bug me.

This is common practice in Miami. You walk by the store and you are blasted by cold air. I usually have to bring a sweater with me when I go shopping in a mall. It's 90+ outside the store and 65- inside the store. Sometimes I think it so cold so you think about buying that jacket, sweater or any cold weather clothes in the middle of the summer. And yes I do close the door to the store because it is such a waste! |
