I actually have not done this, but have read a lot about others who have. Seems like a great possibility. I would be careful of just doing business with someone on Craigslist, unless perhaps they are also listed elsewhere or you could get some sort of references or feedback from them. I did a quick google search and have come up with a coupld of sites. I am sure you can find more if you do a more exhaustive search. Let us know how it goes if you do this SwapYourVacationHome.com Home Home, House Exchange and Home, House Swap and House Trade Vacation Home Exchange / Holiday House Swap : Join for FREE! This is a link to a Today show segment that might give you some hints and also lists some more sites (they all charge): House swap for a cheap vacation - Consuming Interests - MSNBC.com Another article: How to Exchange Your Home for Free Vacation Accommodation - wikiHow

I read an article about this in one of my parenting magazines over the summer, but can't remember which one. The article listed several different home swapping websites, nearly all of which cost money to list your house. ** The article said to be wary of any "free" home swapping sites. I was quite intrigued by it, but when I wanted to discuss the article with DH, he about had a stroke! He said "NEVER!!!!" (I guess, although I'm usually the perpetual worry wart, his imagination started to run wild with "what ifs") Personally, I think it sounds cool. Like someone else said, it would open up more possibilities for us to vacation at! Suzanne
