My local Kroger had a HUGE bin of candy on clearance 75 -90% off. Including chocolate. The items were fresh Most have been taste tested already by myself or a family membeer, and none of it was expired. I think they were just making room for Halloween Candy. I spent about $7 on Hot Tamales, Nestle Crunch Crisp (my new favorite candy bar) , Butterfinger Crisp, Junior Mints - well, you get the idea. I justified it by bagging up some of it to send to ds's school (yes they ask for donations of individually wrapped candy). Chocolate is quite a wonderful thing, IMHO.

My Kroger candy was only marked down to 50% off but we bought about a dozen bags for Trick or Treat. I told my DH to hide it but he didn't do a very good job as I came across it yesterday. So I have hidden the bag of Butterfingersfor my own use and he will have to hide the rest of it again and better!!!
