Anyone have any experience with the recalled dog food/treats?

I just posted on my myspace about it and I'll just copy it below. (easier) If you have what were the symtoms? Are your pets ok now? I'm really really worried about mine right now. I know Great Danes tummys are more easily upset than most dogs. I'm thinking that's why it's bothering her more than our other dog. KWIM.
~~~~~~~~~~
We've been giving our dogs the recalled dog treats. We didn't realize they had been recalled. We just figured it out Saturday night. I'm thinking something is up with their food also. This is such a pain!!
Our poor Bella has been sick since the 25th of August. She can't eat anything without it going straight through her. She, for that matter the other big one either, have pretty much quit eating. (The poodles eats a different food.) She seems to get better when not eating anything at all. So we took her food and let her belly settle for a day. As soon as we gave her her food back it started all over again.
We called the vet last week because she is having quite a bit of blood in her stool. They wanted us to give her a few days on nothing but Plain yogurt. They are thinking she just got into something that she shouldn't have.
We've been doing that and she seemed to be getting better. Saturday we thought she was finally better. Up running around playing. Bella and Max have been staying in their room laying around all the time. You can just see in Bella's eyes especially that she is sick. So we gave her her food back and I'll be gosh dang if it didn't start again within hours of her eating.
So we put 2 & 2 together and decided to check on the recall list. Their treats are on the list but their food isn't. They haven't had a treat since right around the time all of this started. It has got to have something to do with their food!!
I'm going to call the vet again in the morning and see what he says. I'm going to buy a different kind of food or possibly switching them to a raw diet. I'm really at a loss for what to do.
I feel so bad for her. The poor thing is living on Immodium. She can't keep anything else besides water in her tummy.
Definitely think you need to see a vet. There were 2 items in the Chinese wheat gluten, melanine and chlorine, which combine to form crystals in the kidneys. Mostly small animals were affected fatally. Diarrhea and vomiting are early symptome.
What foods and treats were recalled? Was this a recent recall?
We have 2 new puppies so I haven't kept up with pet food recalls before now.
My mom has 2 Yorkies and they've been really sick, to the point she had to take them both to the vet and they said it was just a bacterial thing. But I wonder if it could be the food and they didn't know about the recall yet??
The treats that we have that were recalled are the Bestro Chicken Jerky Strips. UPC 0087784900006 The product was pulled from the shelves on July 26th. Put the recall was just done around the 22nd of August. Supposedly until then they were in "testing" to see if the treats were bad.
I did a search for pet food recalls and came up with several. Here's the link about the treats listed above: Wal-Mart says removed tainted dog treats | U.S. | Reuters
This is were I found it:
Thought I would give a quick update. I took her to the vet yesterday. They did several tests and all of that. He's not exactly sure what is wrong with her. We are trying a few things then if she isn't better in 1 week we are going to do blood work and xrays. For now she is on 2 antibotics, 1 med for diarrhea and a prescription dog food. I got outta there for only $101 so that was a lot less than I was afraid it was going to be. Which I guess it still could end up going a lot higher.
She's still barely eating anything even today. Just laying around at my feet or in my lap. (She's 138lb Great Dane and all she wants is in mama's lap, ahhh) If all this turns out to be the treats...it makes me very upset. Why didn't they post a note on the treat shelves that they had pulled the product. So that the ones of us that had bought it would stop feeding them to our pets. I just hate seeing her like this! She's usually up running, jumping and playing, this is so not her.
Thanks for the links, MyTime! I checked and don't have any that's recalled.
I hope your baby gets better soon. This sounds very much like what my moms dogs had. They were also put on antibiotics and prescription dog food and finally are doing much better.
I had known for a long time to never give dogs chocolate. But when we took the new puppies to the vet, I learned something new....no grapes or raisins, they're toxic to dogs. My mom was shocked because she had never been told and a couple of weeks before that had given her dogs a "treat" of a grape. But the vet doesn't think that had anything to do with the dogs being sick.
