he always wears light colored socks on his show - one of his idiosyncrasies, I guess.

Oprah will be on here in about 45 minutes, and I want to watch it - I saw some clips and he sounds like he was a good guest.

I seldom watch his show but while sitting at a desk they'd be less noticible.
Kinda rude in my opinion, but then, what do I know?!?

Why is him wearing light colored socks considered rude?

As soon as he walks onstage on his show you can see his socks. Maybe he has athlete's feet and has to wear light socks...

At least he's wearing a suit--a few years ago he'd have had on khaki's, a tee shirt and sneakers.

I heard a blurb of them this morning and it sounded like they were having a good time.

It was a great part of the show! I enjoyed it a lot. He was an excellent guest.
He looked very nice from the ankles up!
I feel that is rude and disrespectful to be a part of anyones show (or party or dinner or any other event) and not be dressed appropriately.
If he has a foot problem and has to wear white socks, he could wear a dark pair over them.
It was only for a few minutes.

The socks are not white - they are a light color but not white. He always wears them. He also always wears a double breasted suit and leaves it partly unbuttoned. It's just his thing. If he came onstage and belched -- that would be rude. Wearing light colored socks is rude?-- heaven help us!
