Do you know I was thinking the same thing last night? What the hell is going on in this city?? Then the guy that shot the 12 year old calls the media and TAUNTS them!! Just absolutely insane!! I live in the suburbs but drive through the city to get to my work every day. To be honest, I am really ready to move WAY the hell out of here. The guy that shot that 12 year old was ON THE RUN at the time of shotting because he skipped bail on other charges. We need to look at our judges and prosecutors and wonder why the HELL we are letting these people out on 100.00 bonds!!

I did not see that interview on channel 19. However that is the channel that the man called that shot the 12 year old. He said HE HAS 5 KIDS AND HE DIDNT MEAN IT... Whatever!! And passing a law that says people uner 21 cant get guns? WHO THE HELL IS HE KIDDING?? Does he think that ANY of these guns were purchased LEGALLY?? GIVE ME A BREAK!! I am going to go on the channel 19 website now and see if that clip is there. Have you by any chance seen the plain dealer story this week?? |

It just seems like whenever you turn on the tv all you hear is violence in cleveland.. slavic village.. when I go to the indians games I 've never felt afraid of being in the city..It really is a beautiful city.. I just wouldn't go down a dark ally knowing what I know..

A year or so ago I was driving home from work. I work at Cleveland Clinic. It was three in the afternoon and some lady started storming my car at a red light claiming that I hit her. She then ducked down on the ground in front of my truck and starts screaming that she is getting my license number and calling the police. I finally told her if she didnt move I would run her over. The next thing I know there was someone else at my passenger door and he slammed my side mirror and said, "LOok its broke, you hit her on the elbow with it" (OK I DRIVE A HUGE DODGE RAM that sits a little high. Unless she was 7 feet tall there is NO WAY I hit her on the elbow) I finally just took off once she stood up. I called the poilce when I got hime and he told me they do that all the time. They wanted me out of the car so they could take it. (It really is a beautiful truck) I am not sure how much of Cleveland problems is gang related... Personally I think it is just people that have NO respect for others and think nothing of taking a life. They have leads on the shooting on 95th street and AGAIN they think it is kids. I am just so disappointed in this city. We are the laughing stock of the state. |

Thanks for the love of Cleveland Clinic! I love it here too. However we noticed the other day in talking that all the big hospitals here, Cleveland Cliinic, UH and Metro are all in CRAP neighborhoods. One of our cleveland clinic cops got stabbed in front of the building here. It is nuts. It really is. People talk about LA and other big cities and I will tell you this, it is just as bad here as it is other places. |

Cleveland Clinic.. I think I'm going to cry. My father passed away there after they kept him alive 10 years longer than he should of been.. There's a picture of my son hanging (at least there was) in the heart failure unit . One of the nurses couldn't believe it wasn't a pic out of a magazine in my dads room (it really was a cute picture..lol) and when he passed she asked if she could hang it at the nurses station.. I thought that was really sweet.. I tear up just thinking about that last day.

Crime happens everywhere. Granded you do hear about crime more on the news in certain places. I have lived in both the inner city and the suburbs, and my pet peeve is when there is a crime in the suburbs and a resident will say "this sort of thing never happens around here". Some people assume because they are in a "better" area, they are safe. You have to be careful every where you go. It's so sad especially hearing on the news about an innocent child being harmed or killed. |

I had heard about this and its just awful, but Im not surprised. I live in Warren which is pretty much between Youngstown and Cleveland. Youngstown, Akron/Canton and some parts of Cleveland have gangs..I think its always been that way. The Mayor (I believe his name is Jackson??) can do much better and get his head out of the clouds. I know Mayor White was a good one for Cleveland. It breaks my heart to see children hurt in these crimes... |
