I voted yes, but they are too young to be interested in it. I watch a few shows on MTV, and my biggest complaint is the opening of 'Engaged and Underage' when they show the Mustang rocking as if someone were in there having sex. I just think that scene is totally unnecessary in the opening credits. If they are getting married, and are 'underage', I think it's a safe bet to assume they are already having sex. |

I want to clarify the poll... I worked it up too early in the morning! YES, means that you have MTV blocked. NO, means that you have MTV unblocked. I can't edit the wording on the poll and it seems like I have double-negatives in there. Egads. Thanks for understanding and working with me and my confusion... LOL. |

I had to change my vote before I clicked submit. I thought I just didn't have enough coffee in my system to understand it! LOL

We have MTV and a 10 year old. I don't think she has ever watched it. I don't think I have watched it since about 1995...isn't that when they stopped playing music? Do they ever play music videos anymore? I could not even tell you one VJ that is on but I used to know them all. I think MTV forgot what the M stands for.

We don't have it blocked. But, like the computer, I know exactly what they are watching. (while I'm home when they are) There are shows on there that I will not let them watch. I completely agree it is completely different then when I was a teenager. I so remember Friday Night Videos. LOL |

my kids are not allowed to watch MTV because they are only 6 and 8 but we do not have it "blocked" per say. All shows over G must have a 4 digit pin entered to watch them (so that includes MTV as well as most other shows). DH and I watch sometimes...not as much as we used to. We watch VH1 a lot more (and to me, it's a lot racier and vulgar than MTV can be with the reality shows it has)

I voted yes, because it is blocked on all the TV's in the house, escept the one in the living room........We don't have any channels blocked on it, because if they kids are watching TV in there I can see what they are watching....none of them are really interested in it anyway.....

I used to watch MTV all the time when it first came out, I thought it was the best thing that ever happened, LOL, (I was in college at the time) back then it was ALL music videos. The last place we lived the cable did have MTV and I never watched it anymore because it was just a bunch of shows that I wasn't interested in, no music at all.

Oops - I was confused by the wording and voted wrong. And actually, none of them is quite correct for us. I don't watch it myself, but the last things I'd have watched on there (short channel-surfing spurts of time) weren't shows that had anything in common with the values we hope our kids have. Like "Real World"... I really have no desire to see them move in with a crew half-full of the opposite gender so they can parade around in their undies and talk about their sex lives. It's just not the lifestyle we're wanting for their futures. But we don't have it unblocked, mainly because they simply aren't interested, and tend to use the remote to go straight to the channel they want. I doubt they even know we *have* MTV, and I haven't ever bothered to figure out how to block things. |

Sorry, but I don't believe that stereotype is true for all college students. I made it thru just fine, and that wasn't part of my experience at all. Did it happen? I'm sure it did... but not in the crowd I ran with.
