By the way OJ is not profiting from the sale of this book. The Gould family bought this book. I saw their interview on Oprah a couple of days ago. It was an interesting interview, I wish I could have watched the whole thing but I had to take my kids to soccer practice. The Gould family is only making .17cents per book sold so it is definately not about the money. Unsure how I feel about it. I can understand the Gould's reasoning but I could understand the Brown's family not wanting it to be published. From what I understand it isn't a very nice portrayal of Nicole. He talks horrible about her. You know whatever helps these family overcome their grief. Still after 10years both these families are hurting still so bad. I feel for them both. I hope this brings the Gould family some closure.

I did watch the interview on Oprah. I do understand the reasoning behind the Goldmans taking control of this book. There is not doubt in my mind that it would eventually be published, this way.....OJ will not receive one penny from the sale. He stood to make millions from the sale of this book, now he will make nothing. When I first heard that the Goldmans would be publishing it, I was totally against it, but after seeing the interview, I do understand their decision. I will not read this book. From what I understand OJ totally trashes Nicole and puts the blame of her death and all their other problems on her. It was all her fault, and he was perfect. He shows the classic signs of an abuser. I hope he rots in hell someday.... |

In a new twist, the family of Ron Goldman now owns the rights to the book, allowing them to reap the lion's share of the profits from a book they initially called "disgusting" and "despicable." For Nicole's sister Denise Brown and her family, the Goldmans' decision to support the book's publication is an outrage and an affront to the memory of Nicole. "Every penny we can take away from this monster is a piece of justice," Fred Goldman said. The Goldmans have been unable to collect any money from the $38 million wrongful death civil judgment they won against Simpson. Simpson, in fact, has said, "If I have to work pay them, I won't work. It's that simple. So I'll just play golf every day." Goldman added that he hopes the book's publication could actually help victims of domestic violence. "I hope that one single woman in an abusive relationship reads this book and says, 'God, that could be me. I have to get out and save my own life,'" Goldman said. "One single woman will be worth it." Denise Brown said today on "Good Morning America" she doesn't see it that way, calling any profits from "If I Did It" "blood money." "To me it's going to promote more killings instead of helping victims of domestic violence, who already know they're living a nightmare," Brown told Diane Sawyer. "We don't need to promote O.J. Simpson. We don't need to sensationalize him," she continued. "He's a psychopathic, narcissistic killer." 'Nicole Was a Real Person' Brown said the book sullies the memory of her sister, who she said loved her family first and foremost, especially her children, Justin, now 19, and Sydney, 22. |

I wouldn't spend more than a few dollars on it and I'm sure it will hit the discount bin, but I might read it just to try to figure that dude out. I was glued to that case when it was on CourtTV and it still haunts me. I guess its kind of a perverse fascination on my part.....how could he do that and get away with it? cj/

I guess if you can keep certain facts from being told at a trial, then you can murder people and go FREE! I saw one of the jurors say that she kept waiting for them to present certain facts like the white bronco chase and they didn't. Sad, but they were only allowed to judge by the facts they did present. Even though she had seen the chase. |
