Thank you

mail lady! I just had to have my snapfish order. Sorry there was such little room that you had to jam the large envelope in my mailbox. I am glad it fit in there once you bent the enevelope. Yes, the envelope that was clearly marked Photos and Do Not Bend. Dear mail lady, would you like a copy of my bent and torn 8 X 10 photo?

I would tape the torn, bent photos to your mailbox with her name on it to show her what she did. There really is no excuse for that if she could have placed it inside your door if possible. Sometimes we have packages that are too large to fit in the mailbox and our mail carriers place it between the screen door and inside door.

We have had issues with her before. We had to lower or raise ( I forgot which one) our mailbox 2 inches because she had a new car.

Can you leave her a tactful note explaining your complaint?
Don't be too harsh though, or maybe your things will purposely be bent.

Off topic -- when I first started reading the first post, I thought that this was aimed at one of our MC users named "mail8d"... I couldn't believe someone knew her personally. I know that she is a good and conscientious one though. She has offered us much help on the Auction Talk board over the years...

Others have offered good suggestions. I would talk with her and show her what happened. You do not want to make her your enemy.

No, no, no, no. The USPS has specific uniform standards for the mailbox, the distance between it and the street, the height requirements, and if more than 1 box on the same pole or horizontal surface, the distance in between each, as well as space for the vehicle on the approach and opposite side. These things are not dependent upon the carrier's changing vehicle. I would talk to the postmaster and let them know in a friendly manner what has happened with your envelope.

Sorry from another mailady!!!! I would never do that. Bring the damaged photo and packaging to the PO it was delivered out of and show it to the PM. Maybe your regular person was off that day- I know my route gets really screwed up on my day off.

Yes, when I first read this, I thought it was directed at you! Had to reread.

I have a lot of success in taking bent packages and photos to our PO and had them pay replacement costs.....key for me is to take the package/envelope to PO unopened. I have a really great mail guy, but when he's off, things get really messy........

We are on a rural route and have had mail persons (mostly women) actually knock over our mailboxes with their vehicles. They deliver the mail to he box that is fallen over and drive off.

This is not our usual delivery person...but frustrating non the less.
