We have a neighbor moving in and I think we are not going to get along!

Our neighborhood is in a rural area, a long dead-end road with nine driveways on it. All of us living here have at least an acre.

A new person is moving in and has had the road blocked all morning with moving vans, etc. and doesn't seem to mind that the rest of us can't get through. Today is also trash pick up. If the trucks can not get through, no pick up for us. She doesn't seem to mind that either.

Thanks for letting me vent! Not sure what this lady is thinking...

I'm sure one talking too would make her realize that. We have neighbors here like that as well. When I moved in I spoke my mind and all has been well.

Aww come one, it's a one time thing. Probably don't know it's trash day and I doubt it's only the lady's fault. Make them dinner and welcome them to the neighborhood!

She probably has her mind on moving and getting it done as quickly as possible, not "How fast can I tick off my new neighbors". I would give her the benefit of the doubt and let her know that today is garbage day so maybe she could move her moving vans in enough so the garbage man can get by and the rest of the neighbors can get out. Since she is just moving in, she may not be aware of when garbage day actually is and maybe she only has so much time off of work or has to return the moving vans at a certain time and is hurrying to get stuff out of the van.

I would certainly try to be nice to her about it, you will appreciate a friendly neighbor in the long run as opposed to one that is hostile because she felt attacked the first day she moved in! (not saying you are attacking her, kwim?)

I guess it has been a long two weeks with the "new neighbor" already...today is not the first day she has come in and blocked everyone in...but you are right. I need to be patient.

sounds like a pain in the butt for you. I would bake some cookies, go over w/ a smile and mention, "Oh by the way...." I could see her being insensitive for a day, but for two weeks?
