Watch and make sure they don't get infected. Mine got to where they looked like chicken pox. The dr said they were infected and I should have been seen somewhere right after I had gotten bitten. Maybe liquid Benadryl to stop the itching? Oatmeal baths?

Ask a pharmacist if they have a combination hydrocortisone/ lidocaine ointment, If they don't, go to where they have sun tan lotions and look for after sun aloe with lidocaine. The lidocaine will numb the itch and aloe won't hurt anybody. You can have your daughter apply it liberally as needed. The thing is is not to scratch the bites but they itch like crazy. |

We live in Southern Alabama also where fire ants reign. My ds was fascinated by the ant piles when he was about a year old and if there was a fire ant pile anywhere around he was in the middle of it. I took him to the dr when his little legs where covered with fire ant bites and they told me to put regular stick deodorant on them. It takes away the pain and keeps them from swelling. It worked wonderfully!!!! We have been doing that every since.
