Thanks for the info....

Is anybody else turned off of buying toys with the constant recalls like I am?

I had take woodshop in elementary school, i wished I had kept it up if so my kids would be getting wooden non painted toys for Christmas. I still have the wooden Semi truck I made and the table I made with a tiled top, my grandfather still uses it to set his coffee on while he watches tv

This is quite frustrating...I'm tempted to just take all my son's train toys away "just in case" more recalls come up...He LOVES his trains, though.

My father made us wooden blocks from various lengths of square dowel and varnish, and they got played with a LOT. Those might be a better option for the non-carpenters among us.

I have a birthday for a 2 year old and I'm afraid to buy him anything. I did buy him some books, but for the rest I think I will just give a gift card. I don't want to buy something that is just going to be thrown away.
