Cool You all are invited....

To come to my house, watch me tie a concrete cinderblock to my head, and jump into the muck-filled lake behind my house!!!

DH started feeling sick last night. I bought him medicine, but he wouldn't take it. He's sick as a dog today. He only went to work today because he had a mtg. he couldn't miss, and he came home early. He is moaning and groaning like you would not believe. Nothing like have a big sick man in the house. Not that I'm w/o sympathy, but if I was that sick, being a SAHM, it's not like I would ever be able to just crawl in bed and call it a day. Sigh....

And the second award goes to my 14yr. old son, Phillip. He noticed spots on his chest last night. Uh-Oh...Off to the Dr. we went today-yup-chicken pox! Did I mention he is 14?????? The Dr. did prescribe an antiviral med, but said not to be surprised if it took btw 1-2 wks. before he could go back to school. He had the shot as a baby, and when Patrick got the chicken pox, Phil was about 2 and ended up w/ 2 or 3 spots, so I thought that was his bout. Guess I was wrong.....

Doesn't help that it is my time of the month....
So, RSVP, and pls bring chocolate. BTW, if you do come over, I would stay out of our house. Would hate to wipe out the entire MyCoupon member group w/ the Bubonic Plague!!!lol...

Girl - you do have a platter full!

Don't men just act like the biggest babies when they are sick? I'd have a hard time feeling sympathy today after he refused to take the medicine I bought him last night!

Hope ds is feeling better VERY soon!

Poor linnybop! There is NOTHING worse than a grown man when he is sick. He thinks the world should stop turning until he gets better. And, for your sake, I hope he gets better soon!
I hope your son gets over the chicken pox soon too.

Concrete shoes may seem like a good idea at the moment, but I promise if you fail in your first attempt, you will have to clean up the mess.

I think you need a reverse quarantine. All the puking, itching, moaning creatures may not enter whichever room you choose as a hideaway, and may NOT knock at the door unless the house is burning down ( and even then, they should attempt to put it out before bothering you). Put a book, some chocolate, whatever makes you happy in there, and explain that in order to be the top-notch caregiver they deserve, you simply must preserve your own health.

Oh my goodness! You do have it rough. I know when DH is sick he is so much worse than the kids are. We should all plan a sick day soon and do nothing but sit in bed with our puters and chat all day. Let everyone else fend for themselves.

Sending get well wishes your family.

See Valerie, you should stick around. You never know what kind of fun invitations you will be missing. I will be attending the concrete shoe/lake party and will be wearing a snorkel and fins and bringing lots of chocolate.

I've been guilty of telling DH that he had to take medicine not for his own health, but because he wouldn't shut up already. The odd thing was that he actually did it.

Smear Aveeno on your son, close the door on your husband, and go make some tea or coffee. Or a margarita. Some situations can't end soon enough.

Poor kid. I had chicken pox at 12, then 15. It was awful. I also managed to get shingles as an adult. Hope he gets over it quickly.

Just a quick note to tell you that things improved today. After 18 hours of sleep---yes, 18 hours of sleep, DH was up and at 'em this am, and out of my hair. 18 hrs. of sleep...I think that's what I might get in a good week..... Phillip is doing fine, and feeling fine. No new spots today, but he needs to stay home a bit more. Perhaps after this weekend, all will be scabbed over and he can go back to school. At the risk of sounding like a bad mom, "Why don't they ever get chicken pox of the mouth?" He certainly has had "diarrheah of the mouth" for the last couple of days. Obviously a different virus. Guess I'll hold off a day or two before swimming w/ the fishies. But could still use the chocolate...
