| Do you use slipcovers?
I have a loose back pillow sofa, and when I tried them before, they just looked cheap. Maybe I'm not purchasing the right brand. Do you use them, and do they make your sofas look like a million bucks? If not, maybe I'll just keep saving to $3K for a new leather set. Thanks for any input!

I did have a slipcover at one time, and actually paid quite a bit of money to buy it. After about 24 seconds on the couch, I realized it was a huge conspiracy w/ the furniture makers and the fabric buyers of the world. We only had to look funny at the couch and it would be in disarray. I hated it!!! after about 2 weeks, I just broke down and bought a new couch..

I forgot to add, my kids did use them as a blanket sometimes, so maybe they're not totally worthless! Maybe the slipcovers that make the couch look good are not REALLY slipcovers, I think some are designed to LOOK like they have slipcovers? Maybe if the slipcover didn't go over the cushions it would work better. I imagine that kind of slipcover (and cushion covers) would be quite expensive. Yep, I'd still buy a new couch! |

My mom had slipcovers and she was forever having to fix and straighten them -- they didn't look nice at all but it was all she could afford. I'm just glad that she didn't buy a used couch at a yard sale or thrift store. For some reason it really turns my stomach to sit on upholstered fabric furniture that has been sat on by ???'s hind end.
