I'm not sure I will be much help to you, but I can tell you what I do. I bought one of those mp3/4 players earlier this year from the uxcell.com site someone had posted about and I just drag and drop the mp3's from the folders I have them saved in to the mp3 folder when I plug the player into my computer. I hope that made sense. Unlike the Ipod, I don't have to use a certain program.

Depending on which MP3 player you get it might come with a player.......the RCA ones that I got for my kids came with the one that they use.....Otherwise I use Media Player or Yahoo Jukebox (we have yahoo music subscription though)

Thanks for the recommendations everyone! There is no software coming with it- I bought it on ebay- it comes with everything except the software. I'm going to look into winamp. I'm in the process of trying to switch the stuff I bought on itunes into mp3 so I have that done before it comes in the mail.
