Van hit , van broken into, broke oven & party ideas

What a mess!!!

First let me thank you for reading this post or should I say vent I have had a few hard months and I always try to look for the best and not complain but I need help.

My van got broke into right in my drive way and they took my children's DVD player s, which the van was lock and there were 2 that striped on the seat, anyways it had my DD's Strawberry Shortcake movie in it It isn't worth turning into insureance because of the cost. So those won't be replaced for a long time.

Someone hit my van in a parking lot and cracked my headlight and never said a word. They drove a way and no one saw anything I wish people would be truthful

Then I went to cook dinner last night and the oven wouldn't light so I had DH look at it and he tried to fix it but no luck. so now I may need a new one My Dad is going to look at it.

Ok to the point ~ My dd's 16th birthday is in a few weeks and she wants a party. What is the cheapest way I can make this happen? ( money is tight)
I think I can figure out the food but not the decorations(sp?)

Any ideas would be great!

Thanks for letting me vent

I would use crockpots.. sloppy joes?? you could use the coors rebate if your a rebater to get it cheaper.
get some chips at the dollar store and there ya go.
have a bonfire? and all you would have to buy is paper plates and cups.
I hope things turn around for you! We had our jeep broken into right in front of our house as well. keep your head up!

When I turned 16, I had a slumber party. I think it was the first one ever in which I had two friends spend the night instead of one!!

What kinds of decorations do 16 year old girls like? Maybe some of your daughter's friends could give you some advice?

Knowing what kind of party you are having for her would be helpful. Is it going to big or small, Is it for her and her friends or just your family, is there going to be a theme????

When my son turned 16 we had an xbox360 party. he had 5 friends over, We moved the furniture in our living room, hooked the 360 up to our big tv ,ordered pizza, got soda from the dollar store and of course had a cake. When i turned 16 i too did a sleep over and i still remember it. Have some friends over, maybe do a movie night, make ice cream sundaes . We didnt do decorations but my son likes spongebob so we had that on his cake. Good luck with everything!
