I just wanted to send a small update regarding this terrible tragedy, nightmare we have had to deal with.
The officer/shooter was jealous and after being called a name went out to the truck and grabbed his rifle. My sister Lindsey was sitting on the couch where two kids tried to shield her but with no success. The worst part is that my poor Dad and Step Mom has yet to be able to see her body as she has not been brought back from autopsy from another county. It's just devastating to know that they have yet to have those last moments with her by themselves before the funeral/visitation/burial this coming Monday. It's been a long week needless to say and very painful.
We found out this morning that the officer/kid that did this was not shot and killed by police but tried three times to kill himself before he succeeded in his efforts. It's one thing when the officers take his life but when he did this to himself after what he did it's even harder for closure when he didn't take his own life unil later in the day on Monday.
Lot's of questions are being raised as to how a 20 year old was able to be not only an officer in the town but a sherriff's deputy. I mean 20 years old dealing with all the emotions one has to endure being an officer/sherriff. You have to be 21 years old to drink and yet only 20 to be able to handle all the demands an officer has to deal with. Unfortunately, WI is one of the few that do not do any physcological testing before becoming law enforcement. I hope this will open their eyes and thoroughly test these people out. They are supposed to serve and protect.

I don't post very often but I do come on the boards regularly to check on things that are going on.
I got a phone call at 7 am this morning. I am very surprised nobody has posted anything regarding this horrible tragedy in WI.

My little sister, Lindsey who was 14, almost 15 in a few weeks was one of the kids that was brutaly shot and killed early yesterday morning up in Crandon WI. with some of her closest friends. My Dad and Step-Mom need all the prayers they could get right now along with my 12 year old brother. Very upsetting. I feel terrible and in total shock over this whole nightmare.

So sorry for the loss of your little sister. I had heard there was a 14 year old that was killed. Sometimes you just can't help but wonder what people are thinking when they do such a senseless act and seems like it was all over an ex-girlfriend.

Now I can strangle it

I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. My face feels like a balloon from all the crying. The last update I had was last night from Dad. They had taken all the girls to Fon Du Lac for the autopsies to be done. The guy had shot 30 rounds just inside the girls apartment. The one and only survivor was bumped up from critical to serious condition.

I heard about this tragedy yesterday morning on CNN, and I was surprised that I didn't see a lot about it later in the day. I think that we as a nation hear about so many of these terrible events that we forget the victims are real people like your sister with families and friends who love them dearly.
