| Can you help me understand kids clothing sizes?
i have 3 families w/kids to shop for this xmas, and they all said clothes for the kids when i asked what would be good.. some of the sizes i am having probs with is 4T, i know thats toddler, but the places i was shopping have girls 4-6x girls 7-16 then each of those have small med and large.. so im totally confused.. what does the X stand for, are these larger then toddler clothing? im guessing it has to have the T after the 4 for it to be a 4T lol thanks for any help!! i know one day when i have kids iw ill look back at this post and laugh! |

With a 24 month and 2T the waist is usually bigger in the 24 month. Length is usually the same. 4T and 4's are different though. Try shopping in the toddler section, like at Old Navy, they even have 5T which is nice. My dd is small for her age, 4 1/2 and almost into a 4T, but will most likely be wearing a good solid 4 when she gets into Kindergarten. 4's are just overall bigger and longer. Try somewhere like JC Penney that has 4's and 4t's in pants to get an idea. Shirts should be pretty much interchangable though. Always go bigger on the shirts.
