where can I buy flax seed ?

Lately I been hearing the benefits of adding flax seed to recipes. I was wondering if you buy it in a grocery store ? Vitiman world type place ? If you can get it in the grocery store..which aisle would it be ? by the sunflower seeds ? peanuts ? or near the spices ? thanks so much .

Health food store should carry both flaxseed and flaxseed meal/flour.

It's in the fruit part of the produce section of my Shop Rite; where the dried fruits are.

At Meijer there is an area that has has health foods, kind of how they have imported foods. I found almond flour there. Maybe flax seed would be there too. I bet Trader Joes would have it too.

You can probably get it at your local supermarket or health food store. If it is not available, I would ask the store manager to see if he could start carrying it.

If you have a Trader Joes, they have it the cheapest. Target actually carries it too. By the vitamins. I add it to my oatmeal in the morning. After you open up the ground flax seed, it must be refrigerated. It will get rancid.

I buy in the bulk bins at the supermarket. I buy the seeds and grind them up in an old coffee grinder.

I found it at Super Walmart next to the flour. It was $1.xx for a small box of milled flax.

You can find it at Target in the vitamin asile. Comes in a vacuum sealed bag.

I'm not aware of the health benefits of flax for people, but I do know that if you feed it to horses, they get a nice glossy coat. Maybe you'll grow a thick, beautiful mane of hair!

we were discussing flax seed today at work - a friend puts it on her oatmeal every morning to lower her cholesterol; I was at my eye dr. yesterday and she said I should take it for dry eyes.
