Melaleuca

Someone on here not too awful long ago made a post about this company.

Is it, or is it not an MLM?

The reason I am asking is because on one of my homeschooling groups, a member has a signature line with "work at home united"...

so I followed the trail-- to a very non-descript website. So I called her on the phone and all the sudden it was Melaleuca this and Melaleuca that and how you need to be buying their products in order to make money from it, blah, blah, blah...

So, in my head I am thinking "omg, another Quixtar aka Amway".

Is this an MLM??

multi level marketing... where you get people to join under you and then you make money off of them.

Yes it is...they say it isn't but it really is. If the way you make money in a program is to recruit others to make money from them it IS

I liked many of the products, epecially the Meleluca Oil..but they are expensive.

she didn't tell me that!!

She just kept saying "well I don't sell it, I just get paid to refer people to go buy it themselves"

it was heck to get out of. Some of the products are good but you have to buy AT LEAST 35 points a month (which equals out to around $65 or so without shipping). Each product is associated with a certain number of points. I cancelled over the phone and in writing as directed by Customer Service (LOL...what a joke) and was still charged the next month for points I didn't purchase. I had to call my credit card company to dispute it, fax over my dated cancelation letter I sent Melaleuca and they fought it out with them. I wont but it took awhile
