| I am studying really hard ... update
I seem to have a lumpy breast, Dr. found it a week ago and made a worried face (I hate that!). Tomorrow I'll have an ultra sound and mammogram. I really want to do well on those tests . Keep your fingers crossed, guys, please ...Update: Studying really works, kids! For some reason, that 2.5 cm lump went away. I am sooo happy (I had already practiced the cancer speech ) and wanted to thank y'all for your thoughts and sweet messages!

| The embarrassing thing is that I am a massage therapist and I was not able to feel it. I am in my late 40s and it's not the smoothest terraine to navigate, if you kwim.

Best of luck!! I totally know how you feel. I'm only 41 but I've always been lumpy. Had ultrasounds (mammograms show nothing) 5 times last year and finally had surgery in January (both sides). One came back fine, the other with hyperplasia (raises my risk of getting breast cancer). I now go in twice a year for ultrasounds and I panic every time. You'll do great tho, trust me!!! Most lumps are harmless. PLEASE update us, ok? |

I'm in the same boat with the bumpy boobies. This last time they were going to biopsy me right then and there and even had me draped and ready. The doc came in, started feeling around again and told me he thought he'd jumped the gun and thought I just had, and I quote 'bumpy boobs'. Will be thinking of you today, and I'm sure you will pass with flying colors! |

My mom passed down her "lumpy bumpy breasts". My doc calls them that, but because of a history of cancer I have to go in for ultrasounds 4 times a year.......He says Mammograms can miss too many things. and let me tell you after having ultrasounds so much I don't think I could let anyone squish me again! I hope all goes well for you OP! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for ya and saying a prayer.....

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I had my first mammogram and it showed a mass. They thought it was probably liquid and tried to go in w/the ultrasound and a long needle to bust it but it did not bust. So...I had to have it surgically removed. Low and behold..it was just a mass--not malignant and not cancerous! So...my point behind this is--IF by chance something does "show up" on the ultrasound and/or the mammogram, in most cases (so I was told by the doctors and radiology techs), it is just a mass and it is NOT dangerous. My doctor told me that alot of women have masses in their breast and the majority are not cancerous. I still cringe w/my mammogram (have one next month). Not just because of the pinching but because they may find something again. My OB/GYN doctor did tell me next time before they take evasive measures like they did last time, they would "watch" it and see if it grows before he would recommend the same again since I have had a previous non-malignant mass in my breast. Hang in there bingding!
