I have been coming here for several years now. I love this site, I miss the family board, but the cafe is a nice replacement.

Anyway, to my question. I never look at a persons user name. I just click and read. The only time I would look at a users name is if in the thread I am reading there was mention of someones specific thread.

How many of you look at user names?

I don't look at user names except in a few cases.....there are a couple of members that tend to offer viewpoints and information that I have always found to be particularly informative or uplifting to me. I look for posts by those people because of the value to me.

And I hate to admit it, but there are a few usernames that I associate with tending to trounce on folks and I notice those too. It's the mama bear in me that wants to rescue the unsuspecting cub from the carnivore.

I do. I look at titles of threads then the user name. Some names I won't bother to read since they get on my nerves.

Looking at the names before I read a post on the internet is like looking at someone while they're speaking.

I look about 30% of the time, the four main reasons I look is when someones story is touching or is having trouble, when I agree with a poster, when someone says something profound and when someone says something stupid (normally this is the same 5-10 people)

Not really. More than user names I tend to notice how a person writes. I am not critical of spelling, grammar or anything like that, it is the run on posts with no sentences and punctuation that I can not get through.

The only time I tend to notice a users name is if I am giving them reps or if they said something that really caught my attention.

I look about 50% of the time. If I really like the post I like to know who posted it as well as if I really did not like the post.

I look all the time. I want to know who I am replying to. There are certain posters that ask for prayers and support and it gives me a better idea on who they are.

FIrst I read the title and then the name. Mostly I like to know who is writing and familiarize myself with any recalled writings. When reading responses yes I read names there are some poeple that I have discovered know what they are talking about and I respect their opinions.
