Do your kids wear uniforms?

Just wondering how many schools now have uniforms? Do they have them for all the schools? How many color options do you have your school?

Uniforms are not district wide here, each school sets their own code.....

Our elementary school can wear navy, yellow and white for shirts, they have to be polos or oxfords
Our middle school, you can wear maroon, navy and white for shirts, they have to be polos or oxfords,
both schools you can wear khaki or navy pants, no cargo pockets, or flare legs allowed

Our high school do not have uniforms........

I wish....even if it was just a certain color pant and shirt...not a true uniform per say. It sure would alleviate me veto'ing a bunch of stuff that she wants me to buy. LOL!

Our school district only has it for middle school. Navy or khaki pants and polo or oxford shirts in the school colors.

Nope, only private schools around here have uniforms (and I'm not sure that even they have them). I'm glad...I don't like uniforms

No, but I wish they did!

One or two of the public schools and all of the private schools around do have uniforms.

DS1 goes to a Xaverian Bros high school. There are dress and grooming standards, but not a dress code per se. Shirt, tie, sportcoat, slacks, shoes standards are specified - no cargo pants, no sneakers, etc and no facial hair or shaggy hair below the collar, etc. THe rest is left for them to decide (colors, fabrics, style, etc) for some freedom of expression. Works well for them. They really look comfortable in this style of dress which is a plus come interview time, etc. They are pros at tying a tie! Looks like I'll be sending DS2 to the same school also.

I work in a Catholic grade school so yes we do have wear uniforms. We have navy shorts, skorts, or a light blue jumper or skirt for girls in the spring uniform (with white polo shirts). Girls wear a darker jumper or skirt for winter. Boys wear navy pants or shorts and white polos. We even have a uniform sock.

My own kids went to Catholic high school. Because they were part of JROTC, they wore an army uniform every day. Light green shirt and dark green pants with black shoes.

Yes all three of my children where uniforms - LOVE IT! My daughter attended Latin school for two years - had to where dress clothes - No cargos - no jean material anything - always a button down shirt with collar --- hated it -- I love the uniforms - even at the high school level! I would rather pay $12,000 a year for her education - then her wardrobe!
