Talking Its Official.... I'm engaged

Since you are all my "online" family I just wanted to share my happy news. Last night my bf proposed I am so excited, we talked about getting married, he said he would marry me and ask me soon and last night I was having a bad night (it was a bad day) so he tuned off the tv and asked me. He gave me a pretty ring he said it isnt "the ring" cause he wants me to go pick one out since i am picky (I like them small and tiny) I am just so excited, we set a date for Oct 25 2008 because I want a Halloween Party for a reception and just a quick little ceremony

Of course it has, why do you think I got the ring I also found your response to be a little tacky but then again not everyone was raised with manners some of us would have been better off raised by animals

To the rest of you who sent well wishes, thank you and if my response to Proud offended anyone I am truly sorry

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. I wish you both a long, happy & healthy life together.
I love the idea of a Halloween wedding. I wanted to get married on Jan. 01 at midnight so we could start a new year and a new life together at the same time. DH wanted a summer wedding, so we compromised and were married in May.

while i am just a traditional woman from the old country, i can tell you momma didn't raise no dummy. if he already has the milk, there is no mystery left and he will stray. learn the tried and true ways of the old country before you catch him with porn on his computer. but we can't all be traditional women i guess, otherwise lawyers wouldn't make money on divorces.

Oh crap, do I have to start to worry that my husband of 33 years might stray since he liked milk before we got married. (thank goodness he still does). He still doesn't have porn on his computer, but you should take a look at his dvd collection

Sometimes a husband will stray because they are married to an old prude.

Op I am sorry to get nasty in your thread but I was so upset when I read her post.

I know my soon to be husband isn't going anywhere he is quite happy with what he has If he looks at porn, who cares, whose to say I don't enjoy it with him or turned him on to it , not all of us are uptight you know I guess some people are not meant to be happy I just hope maybe one day you will be blessed with some happiness because all your replies seem to be so negative.

30 years and counting and no spoiled milk, just shows that traditional women know a thing or 2 about keeping a man.

Congratulations! I wish you all the best for a happy marriage. It is exciting isnt it? What did your kids say when you called them to tell them? Are they all excited too?

My sister is getting remarried and her kids are just thrilled.

Wow this is ridiculious. I can't believe that you just can't say congratulations! If you have nothing nice to say don't reply to her thread. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to come on a thread of someone announcing they are engaged to be married to bash her for no reason at all. You don't know her or her soon to be husband. Congratulations ishop2much!!!

That is a lesson that you never want to learn first hand. Maybe you should spread the word by making it into a bumper sticker.

41 years coming up in about 3 weeks and my old man never thought twice about our "trial" run before marriage. In fact he did think twice but not about the fact that some people didn't approve. But in those days he thought often about whether he could manage twice. Twice is certainly not a thought that crosses his mind at age 70, but I can tell you that "once" often still is. Just shows that non-traditional women also know a thing or two about keeping a man.

So congratulations to the bride and groom. Start your own traditions and if you find you don't like them, change them.
