You will be in the fitting room with the person who will use a tape measure and of course you will have to take your shirt (and bra) entirely off for a proper fit. You just might be surprised what size you really are and how much better the new bra size will fit and feel. dl |

I've been fitted at a bra store (Olga, Warners) and they fitted me over my clothes, which I made sure weren't baggy that day, just in case. I guess there are different methods, but don't forget, it's like what they say about an ob/gyn - they've seen it all before! Let us know how you did! My fitting took away 2 inches off the band size, and added a cup size! Who knew I was actually that???? Looks much better now, too. |

I was fitted at VS and at Gap Body. I did not have to take my shirt and bra off in either place. They measure you over your clothes. Just make sure that you arent wearing a padded bar and wear just a tshirt or something thinnish like that. HTH

I have never and would never take off my bra to be fitted for a new one. They have always measured in a private area of the store but over my existing bra using a method like the one Addison linked. Do be aware that Victoria Secret can measure any size, but I believe that they top out at about 40D or 40DD, and have a somewhat limited selection in those larger sizes. FWIW, cj/

I was measured over all of my clothes in the outer area and then she handed me a sample box in that particular size. It had a wide range of styles and coverages. I then went into the room and tried them all on and decided to go up a size and so asked her for the other box... Tried all of those on and decided that it was a better fit and found a style that I liked. She never came in the room unless I asked her to. I also did not purchase anything that day at VS but the fitting was helpful the next time that I was at Ross or Kohls and saw bras in the size that I had been fitted for. Also, if you do eBay, write down the style number on the VS fitting card for the particular style that you end up liking!!! Side suggestion... be sure to shave your pits... I was embarrassed last time because I had quite a bit of growth!!! Ew. |

I have been fitted at VS, Dillards & Nordstroms. I know I didn't take my bra off, I can't remember if I took my shirt off. But Nordstoms was the most helpful. The lady was very nice, knowledgable and good about not making your feel self conscious. She kept bringing me different styles in my size and giving me honest feedback to find exactly what I wanted. I used the link Addison had a few days ago when I noticed that my "cups runneth over". I had been wearing 34c/36b. Well, according to that chart I am a 36D - wow!! The 36 band is not very tight, so I went up to a 34D and it was amazing. And to think I had been wearing the wrong size for a while now. If you know your band size, just grab a few bras in different cup sizes and try them on. I never would have thought I was a D cup in a million years. |

I was measured at vs only to find out they don't carry my size
