Smile Who's Who Among Outstanding Middle School Students

DS received a form to fill out for this yesterday. I'm not entirely sure of what good it is going to do a kid in middle school. Anyone had any experience with Who's Who in the middle school?

Thanks,
Laura

If I recall, it's something you have to pay for if you want adequate info entered. Otherwise, minimal info is entered about your son. Plus, you have to pay for the book.

I got this, too, for both my girls. However, youngest is in 5th grade - not even in middle school yet. I'm leary about it so I pitched it.

Does every kid get this? Seemed like a money-maker for someone....but not me.

They were a bigger deal a long time ago I think and were something to put on a transcript, but I guess not so much anymore! I was in it in high school, but not many were chosen then, only the top few from the class were offered to be in it and you had to be recommended I believe?
