Carrie or Addison is gone. who has the job now? I already miss her. I think she did a great job and what ever or who ever made her leave gets me mad. she will not even post as carrie anymore. Maybe if we ask her she will come back.

I guess I am really confused I remembering her saying she was not going to be a moderator anymore, but then she said things changed and she was still going to be the Cafe moderator. Now this was like 2 weeks ago, so did something happen lately that I didn't see or hear about???

I too hope she doesn't leave, I think she has done a wonderful job. Its not easy, especially with some many different personalities in the Cafe, you can't like everyone...just respect them

Its just to bad , that a person who tried to keep the boards alive, plus have a family, job and her own life was dissed like this. All the mods do is try to keep peace and tranquility on the boards, maybe stir up a ruckus at times. I guess enough was enough. ( I dont blame her at all).
She will be missed . Even though she isnt a mod now, I hope that she keeps posting and letting us know how she is.

Thank you all for the kind words. It was so nice to see. Sadly, I won't be coming here anymore. After being a mod here for a short time it has turned my world upside down. I feel terrible that I brought that nasty vile person into my life and put my children in harms way. To me the most important thing in life is family and that is what I am going to be doing from now on. I am going to take all my computer time and spend it with the people I cherish most in life!

I would like to say that the person never listed my address she did however list some very personal information. She did a search of my name and found out about mortgages and lawsuits that had to do with me. She also found out my parents name and their address. So I want to caution all of you be careful with the information that you give out. Some crazy person could be here and they can find you very easily. I feel very sorry for this women and I think that she needs help.

Things have happened behind the scene that I don't think I will ever ever get over. My safety and the safety of my family has been compromised and I think I will be looking over my shoulder for a very long time.

As for all of you....I'm gonna miss ya! I really have grown to love all of you and your personalities. The advice I have for all of you is #1 protect your personal information. #2 Don't always assume the new guy is a troll. She may be a great asset to this board and possibly a new friend. Treat the "newbies" like they will be your new friend. That is the only way for this board to grow and maybe one day this will be the YFB again. #3 The trolls.....Don't respond to them ignore the nastiness of those people. They are enjoying you paying all this attention to them. Just let them write what they write and ignore them. They will soon go away.

I tried to be fair to all of you and I hope I was. I never ever wanted to hurt anyone. Even though I did hurt someone and I will hold that mistake in my heart for my lifetime. (I do love ya and will miss our friendship). Actually, I will miss everything about this board. You were my family since 1998 and it is going to be hard to walk away from all of you.

I will however be stopping in to finish the games I have started. The secret buddies if anyone can take those over I would really appreciate it. If not I will finish that until December. The survivor contest again if anyone can take that over I would love for that. If not I will finish that too.

You guys have given me a wonderful ride and I will hold you all in my heart. Be nice to each other. This is a smart bunch of ladies you can all learn from each other!

To those of you who THINK that I am a newbie or troll, that is not true. I have been around these boards for a long time.

Carrie, I think you have done a great job here. You are the kind of person I would like to be friends with in real life. I am so sorry that you have been treated so badly here. I think that many people know who the poster is that has made you feel your family and personal life is threatened.

Why isn't this poster banned from here? I don't understand why not? This person has a long history of disrupting many different boards, using multiple usernames. This poster is not normal. But, their behavior is allowed and permitted on this board. Why? This is my question. To those of you who called this poster a "psycho", you certainly are correct. Other posters have attempted to warn several other boards about this particular poster. However, it falls on deaf ears.

Why not ban this poster? Can someone please answer that question for me?

Maybe now this serious issue will finally be addressed by the moderators or administration of MyCoupons. What is it going to take? What are they afraid of by handling this matter? If it was anyone else, they would be banned. Why do they protect this poster? They will let a good moderator go for a person with a long history of this type of thing happening over and over again. To those of you who want a tidy, happy board, as long as this poster remains on your board, you will never have that. Just ask the many who have been at boards with them. They will tell you.

The real problem? There's TOO much anonymity on the internet and nowhere NEAR enough personal accountability. So if you can figure out the answers to that problem, maybe something REAL can be done.

I know of at least two other usernames this poster uses on this board, beside the main one. This poster has a ton of posts under their primary username. I would ban the primary one as that is one people recognize for trades, etc.

Is it possible that MC is concerned about a lawsuit from this poster if they are banned? Would not be the first time they filed a lawsuit. Probably will not be the last either.

I'm just letting you know since you and several others wonder why not "Just ban them!" isn't the end-all be-all. It's not that easy if people don't want it to be. It would be nice of things worked like that, but it doesn't.

Again, the problem is TOO much anonymity and NO real accountability. There is too much reliance on "good conscience" - which gets in shorter supply every year.

If you can figure out the answers to those things, you WILL have a million dollar idea.

Wow, this thread is really freaking me out. I'm starting to have all these delusions like everyone in the cafe is actually 1 person making all these posts to attract attention to the board,and I am the only actual poster who isn't a clone.

I respectfully disagree with you. I think that someone in the authority postion should do the right thing. That would mean banning their main username. Most of their trades have been done with that username.

Most people do not know their other usernames. It would get the primary problem off this board. Let them go somewhere else and cause problems. They have done enough damage here in the 5 years they have been here. I have seen other posters get banned for much less serious violations on this and other boards.

So, anyways...back to the question at hand: who is the new moderator of the Cafe?

That would be good to know so that those who like to beat a deddhorse can move on to their next victim and give the good Carrie or the evil Carrie (however you view it) some peace.

I agree that getting rid of her PRIMARY username (BANISHING IT!) associated with all of her trades would eventually send her and her other usernames away...

I'm sure that she'd make herself known in many ways here and probably already is and has but we can ignore all of that. We really can for the sake of our Boards!

I think that you are completely off-base as to how you interpreted that particular thread. I followed it throughout that day and it brought out the honest truth about the other user that we are talking about in this thread.

It was explained to all of in a later post that it was deleted because it was talking about another Message Board that was started by some former MC'ers (that goes against the MC rules of advertising other sites) and had gone completely off-topic from the original question.

Addison made a good decision when she deleted it... it was to get rid of a bunch of garbage.

She has apologized publicly a multitude of times to the particular user that she felt that she wronged. Give her credit. That takes a HUGE person.


Okay, that's my humble opinion... LOL.

So once again, what does the banning SOLVE?

Nothing.

There's a side to this you're not thinking of. I tried to allude to it, but it's not working. There IS a method to the madness!

I don't know anything about the whole trading thing, but it seems like banning a trader's primary username for cause might hit potetnailly hit them where it might hurt a little bit. And discipline is needed to correct bad behavior, right moms???

They have over 5,000 posts at MC with that username. Almost everyone knows that username. Very few know the other usernames they hide behind. I think that if this board knowingly allows this person to continue to post here with that username after what they have done through the years here, that is a not right. It is a slap in the face to the truly genuine, honest people who post and frequent these boards.

Then they go on the same way with other names.

I can and do appreciate your opinion. However, I do not remember the other site being named by name, just initials. So to me, that was a convenient way to justify deleting. Part of the point is, apology or no apology (and I acknowledged one was given) this behaviour was not within the rop either and was accomplished by a moderator. There were two wrongs here, one by dreamscapes, then followed by addison.
