Thoughts Needed..DS's K Teacher

My son's K teacher (who both of my daughter's also had for their K teacher), just recently found out she has breast cancer. She is very young, only 35. She found a lump, and through x-rays, and ultrasounds was told it was nothing to worry about, nothing cancerous anyays. She felt something was still wrong and pushed for an MRI of which brought devestating news. She has to have a total masectomy of both breasts, and radiation. Is hoping for no chemo, but things are not looking the best. She was told that had 6 more months gone by without catching this, it's more than likely she would not be around for much longer. The exmplanation she was given as to why xrays, and U/S's weren't picking it up is because her breasts were still to dense since she is still rather young. If you could say a good thought for her I would appreciate it.

I am so sorry for her too. I really do hope she got a second opinion though before going through with the major surgery. You never know...

I have a student whose mother has stage 4 breast cancer. She did not have any lumps but something was just not right on her mammogram. She went through some surgery again on Tuesday.

One of the teachers at school got breast cancer 27 years ago when she was in her early 30's. They did surgery and then some new med. They did not give her much hope. She had 2 small children. 24 years later she got it in her other breast. She is still with us.

We will send her prayers.

Oh my. I can't even imagine what she is going through.
I so wish we can find a cure for cancer.
