we got evacuated last night!

Wow, all I can say is what a night......There was an accident up the road from us...it happened before school let out. We could actually hear it as it happened. It was very very loud. Well once I pick the kids from school, I decided (since no homework) that we would run to the store to start picking stuff up for our FRG cookout on Friday....well we try to come home, and they have all the roads blocked off......I finally convinced one of the policemen to let me get my dog out of the house.......We finally were allowed back home after 10.....it was a really long night. Turned out that the accident invovled a liquid oxygen truck...liquid oxygen and ashpalt don't mix (extremely flammable and we were told with some compressed air, explosive) so they had to evacuate, so they could clean up the mess......and they couldn't start cleaning till the area had been cleared. The kids thought it was exciting! I'm thankfully that it didn't take any longer then it did....

Oh how scary. Glad noone was hurt during the spill.

Where did you all go during that time?

Well since I had a vehicle full of cookout supplies for a FRG cookout we are having on Friday drove on Post, and dropped them off, to a dining facility that was nice enough to let us store them in their freezer....I would have been really upset if I hadn't been able to find anyone to take them since there were 300 hamburgers and about 150 hotdogs......then we hung out at DH' s work for a while, and then the kids got an extended play time at Mcdonald's. They had opened up a few places for all the people to go, but I knew my oldest DS wouldn't be able to handle a large group of people......So the kids had a great time, and pretty much fell in to bed when we got home.....
