What about a spa party? They can do each others nails, hair, etc. A movie party? Lots of junk food and a few flicks? Sleepover?

We just did a 13th birthday slumber party for my dd last night. She invited 7 of her girlfriends. They made t-shirts, went on a junk food run to the grocery store (they were allowed to pick out their own snacks), went to Blockbuster. They watched movies, played video games, gossiped, gossiped and gossiped. A few boys "crashed" the party but were chased out by midnight.

Instead of a party how about a really nice dinner out for her and just a few friends. Or maybe a really fancy Sunday Brunch. We did a Sunday Brunch for my dd and 4 friends and it was wonderful. The girls dressed up, sat and chatted and ate for about 2 hours and the best part was my daughter felt really special. So many parties are just crazy madness with everyone running all over the place...the birthday person does not feel special because it is just a madhouse.

My daughter will be 13 in April, and is already planning her party......It's a Rock n Roll theme, with some spa things to be done at home......

We have a Guitar Center here, and they will let the girls come in and see and fool around on some guitars for a while, then we'll move on to the house.....Still haven't figured out the rest of the details yet. Usually we do a lot of the things that Chelmo suggested.

Hope she has a super Happy Birthday!

We've done a rollerskating party...a sleepover where we took the girls out to Steak and Shake first...a pool party with a luau theme...and the Sweet 16 masquerade party last night was a blast...Everyone wore masks...the kids loved it! Have fun with whatever you decide! ~Lisa

I'm facing the same problem in a couple of weeks only with my son. November in Wisconsin is a hard party month.

Maybe a bowling party. We have an arcade here in town but that would be expensive and then we'd go
out to eat afterwards. I don't want a bunch of gangly boys tearing up my house. We could go bowling, then a movie with popcorn, and then out for ice cream. Maybe hold it down to 3 friends and my son.

I'm interested in ideas too.

I kind of feel that they don't need a big party every year. I think I'm a party pooper.

Have you tried Birthday Party Ideas - Kids birthday party ideas shared by parents around the world to help you plan a kids birthday party. yet? There are soooooo many ideas there and most with great detail. Last November I did a Luau theme for my DDs 13th and that was a lot of fun but too many girls...16 of them all over night. In January is my other DDs 13th and her theme is Red Carpet Premier. It goes along the lines of a movie night buy my DD is the star The invites say "You are invited to the Red Carpet Premier of XXX's 13th Birthday!" We will have a red carpet to the front door, boas and sunglasses for the 11 girls she is inviting and all the other decorations to go with.
Good Luck and have fun!!
