If the mother was there, she probably thought it was harmless fun. But I'm a big fan of personal space so I probably would not have liked it one bit. Why would they have had to sit on each other? We used to play a game where you had to close your eyes and someone would sit behind you and draw their name on your back using their finger. Then you had to guess who it was. So was this mother trying to get the blindfolded kid to guess the weight of the party attendants?? Some people....

um, no, never heard of that one. I would not like that one, with it being boys and girls. When you are trying to guess what (or who) something or someone is, you "feel" it. Um, NOPE!!! I would not do that at my child's party.

I guess the Chaperone saw it as harmless fun, but I really find it inappropriate! You could easily "grab" something feeling around to figure out who it was.........

I think it is absolutely INAPPROPRIATE!!! I have a 6th grader and I would be VERY upset if my DD were involved in a game like that!

Uh yeah, what she said. I got a better idea. If there's quite a few kids, why can't one of them hide while a designated person leaves the room. When the person returns, they need to guess who is missing. A bit more appropriate for preteens anyway.

No, I've never heard of it. No, I wouldn't like it at all if my child was at this party where they did this. No, I would never do this at a party at our house. Has anyone asked the parents why they were doing this? What purpose did it serve? ~Lisa |

I have never heard of that and would be really upset if my DD was involved in this type of "game". My DD is also in 6th grade and she has never mentioned anything like this before. BTW, I love the idea above of trying to figure out who is missing from the room. That would be a lot of fun for all ages. |

I would be having a very pointed discussion with the "party chaperone" as well as the parents of the birthday child. |
