Help for a sore throat?

I was already getting sick (could feel it coming on the past couple of days) but after inhaling some smoke this morning my throat is just killing me.....anyone have tricks to make a sore throat bearable? Usually I just go through a ton of fruit breezers(halls) but since I'm trying to be good with calories, I don't really want to waste them on cough/throat drops.....kwim

1/2 C. of warm water
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of vinegar

mix well, and gargle. Tastes awful, hurts like *(&^%, but will help your throat feel better--especially if you're coming down w/ strep or tonsillitis.

Benadryl. Most likely you're having sinus drainage going down your throat that's making your throat sore. Halls makes sugar free cough drops.

This is what I do, but minus the vinegar.
Salt water is supposed to actually help kill germs.

I have done the warm salt water, but the vinegar might also be helpful. Vinegar is so versatile.

Also, you can try dissolving aspirin in water, then gargal with it. The aspirin will stick to parts of your throat. This may sound gross, but it has worked for me. (Do right before going to bed, so you don't drink anything else).

Grate some fresh ginger, steep in boiling water. Strain, add some honey and fresh lemon juice. The ginger and honey should help soothe your throat and the lemon will give you a shot of vitamin c to help you get over whatever it is.

Whenever I feel a sore throat coming on I start gargling with Grapefruit seed extract. Use about 5 drops in a little water. Tastes very bitter so don't swallow. Most of the time a few days of gargling will knock out whatever it is.

Feel better soon.

Airborne works but I think it works best if you take it the instant you feel a scratch in your throat. Not sure if yours might have progressed too far for Airborne by now?

This has been mentioned before, but when you feel something coming on, take vitamin C and garlic. Helps nip it in the bud.

I use warm water, salt, and hydrogen peroxide (in place of vinegar). That usually nips it in the bud.

I know some will go yea yea whatever But I always swear by Chicken Broth or any chicken type soup. Something in it Helps SO much!..I think its because there is quite a lot of salt in it..I will eat just one bowl and that same day feel TONS better if not totally better. I use that for colds and flu symptoms as well as sore throats. Oh and another tip..NOT sure if anyone else has heard of this as I just did recently...If you have a cough...Put Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of your feet and put socks on and within 5 to 10 minutes the cough will be gone. I have NOT tried this but I have heard it truly works. GL!

This always works, even with a bad cough. Take ginger root, grate it and squeeze the juice out. Mix the juice with honey (basically enough for you to take the ginger juice in since it is very sharp tasting). Take in a tsp at a time, many times a day. Ginger can be drying to your body, though, so don't take in too much.
