I'm not sure myself but I believe that they are coupons that are tied to wine bottles at the grocery store???

I've walked through the wine section and never see any so maybe they aren't put out in AZ? or maybe they get pulled off of the bottles by customers who don't buy the wine??

Like you, I have often wondered about these because I read about them on here but have never seen one at the store.

Wine tags are coupons put out by wine companies. Some hang on the bottles and some are tear pads.
There are also booklets put out by beer companies. They are not in all states.

I'm not familiar with them either. After reading this web article, I think I may used one or two. But I did not know they were called 'wine tags'.

Quote:
There are a wide variety of coupons that can be found inside a grocery store. One of these is a "wine tag" which is simply a coupon, or manufacturer’s rebate, that is found hanging around the neck of a wine bottle.

The "wine tag" term is used to describe several different types of coupons or rebates, For example, it commonly refers to any coupon found hanging from a wine, oil, juice, or other bottle or jar. In addition, "wine tag" is used to describe any coupon or mail-in rebates (MIRs)sponsored by an alcoholic beverage company. For this discussion, only those coupons and MIRs found on wine (or other alcoholic beverage) apply.

Thanks. They don't sell wine in grocery stores around here so I was not familiar with them. Sounds like lots of people love them, they must provide a great deal!

This thread is better suited to our TOT (Tips of the Trade Board). You will probably get much better response on that board.
