How are the diets/exercise going ladies?

Have you all started on your diets this week? How's it going? Need any support?

Me....I've been bad Ate cookies one night - NOT ALLOWED on South Beach. And threw out my back yesterday so will miss today's workout. Grr.....if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck.

Anyone have any good news?

Well I have been working out everyday....twice Monday and today. Its going to be a tough week for me, my "visitor" showed up yesterday, today being Halloween and DH birthday is on Friday and he wants to go to Red Lobster. But I'm just going to take it in stride.....Hope you feel better!

I started good yesterday..ate breakfast (which I never did before but thought I should start) for lunch I had a salad but then dinner happend.. I went to the mall to do some walking and window shopping and I made the mistake of walking past the Cajuan Grill and saw that they had orange chicken and I tried to forget that I really wanted it and looked at the salad at the salad bar place in the food court but the orange chicken called me. Then a friend of mine called and asked if I wanted to go get coffee or tea when she got out of work so we can chat and I said yes but on her way to meet me she changed her mind and wanted ice cream and we ended up at friendlys and I was just going to drink a water while she ate her sundae but she put the ice cream menu in front of me and I couldn't resist I am doing weight watchers again (this time without the meetings, I said I would put the $13 a week I would pay weight watchers in an account and when I hit the 10 pound mark I will take that money and buy myself something new) I am really trying to be good today

Going pretty good here......Ended up having to go into the Doc's have strept, so eating isn't a problem for me 'cause it hurts to dang bad to swallow! At least it will help me from being really bad on Halloween......

Thanks! I've got 4 different meds right now, also had a sinus infection, which I can deal with, but I HATE having a sore throat........Good news is that I have lost 3 lbs. over the last 3 days........DH now leaves on Monday(early early morning) instead of Wednesday so I hope I kick this soon......

I'm still the same, 5lbs to lose, 5lbs to go. I ate Butterfinger snack sizes for lunch. Hopefully the kids and DH pick through the candy bags this evening and get rid of my favorites. I walked a lot this week but no decrease in weight....yet!

I started a new Walk Away the Pounds dvd with Leslie Sansone a couple of weeks ago. I'm doing it 5-6 days per week. This one has five different days with different routines. One is kick boxing and believe it or not I could keep up. She also has a high calorie burn 30 minute walk. Then a power mile with weights. I watch The Biggest Loser for inspiration. So far so good. I lost 50 lbs 4 years ago and kept most of it off. Now I want to get rid of the creep-back weight. I have 10 lbs to go. I found I have to make my exercise more intense to get rid of the weight. My usual routine just doesn't do it any more. (BTW I started at 212 four years ago and I've crept back to 172 now) I want to get back to 162 by Christmas.

Sticking with it so far....although I am really wanting a candy bar right now! Lost a few pounds last week and I am hoping for a few more by my weigh in Friday morning. I take one day off (usually Saturday) and allow myself a *normal* day, then I go right back on the diet the following day. I have been lifting weights and doing two miles on the treadmill five days a week! My Dh just received the Six week Body makeover kit he ordered. We are planning on reading and getting organized and trying it in a week or so. By then, I am hoping I only have 8-10 pounds to shed!

Well, I'm sticking to my 1000 calories a day. My gym membership statrs tomorrow, I'm really excited about that.

I've been watching the Biggest Loser and it's great motivation.

I was afraid to read this thread. I figured I was the only one. I started on some new pills last week and I'm hoping they kick in and get me motivated. I'm barely getting by w/taking care of the baby. Most everything else gets done sporadically. I don't even want to go to the store and use coupons.

Plus, we had to put our one dog to sleep on Tuesday. We had him almost 8 years. And I can't seem to stay out of the Halloween candy. I'd hide it from myself if I thought that would help.

I'm happy to report I didn't eat one piece of Halloween Candy! It was tempting though! We walked a good 5 miles last night too.....Did manage to eat (drink) some plain chicken broth but it hurt so bad, I didn't finish it.....Hoping to start exercising next week once I feel better and DH is gone. Anybody do The Firm? I usually do Tae-Bo, but need a change.......

Well gang...I have been very bad. I haven't hit the scale yet, but can just feel it knowing what I have eaten. My Mom died unexpectedly Sat. and her funeral was yesterday morning; with all the food and goodies sent to the house I have picked at the sweets rather than ignore them. I am very weak in spirit now. I have to pick myself up and start agin. Than you for the continued support. I deeply appreciate it.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a difficult time this must be for you!


I am doing pretty bad with my weight loss I need some motivation to get on the treadmill and to eat healthier. Unfortunately, I have been into the Halloween candy

My treadmill is on the fritz (motor is going out) but lets just say it got well used today anyway.
Im expecting a new one to be delivered tomorrow.

I am guilty of eating the forbidden fruit (skittles). I would go out and walk but it is freeeezing out there. Maybe I'll wait until after noon. I did lose a few pounds last week, though!

I have to restart the South Beach program. Ugh. The Halloween candy did me in. I'm so mad at myself!! I dread weighing in.

But I did go to the gym today despite my back still bothering me....and ran 5 miles and lo and behold, my back doesn't hurt at all anymore! Yeah!! My leg muscles are tight though...LOL.

It's going good!

I had a few more sweets then usual with Halloween last week but am back on track. I'm 1 pound down from a few weeks ago. The weather has been nice which really helps. I'm outdoors from the moment the kids leave until they get home from school. I hope this good weather lasts awhile!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner now.

CJ, do you have to do South Beach Phase 1 over again? or can you jump back into P2? You CAN do it! 5 miles ought to have burned off the candy and gotten your metabolism revved up! Way to go. Glad your back is feeling better too. That's no fun.

Thanks! I don't really know the "official" process for South Beach, but I was thinking that I'm not carb-detoxed now, so have to go back and do that again. Since I am not one to follow it to a T, maybe I'll do a 1-week phase 1 recovery.....

Going to do the cross trainer this morning for 1/2 hour before work. Exercise is the key for me....

Good job on the 1 lb, Cuthie!!
