My two youngest are cupcakes (thanks to allinaugust!) for T or T tonight, but for a party today they are princesses....(my Mom made the costumes so they had to wear 'em for something.....) My oldest (12) claims she's too old to T or T, so she's passing out candy 11 year old is Kirby (nintendo character, not the vacuum) 10 year old is Gaia (or something like that from Naruto) 8 year old is a pirate and the dog is an angel.......who keeps trying to chase her halo.....

Dd is Ariel. Ds is supposed to be a duck or Pooh, which ever he'll wear. It's not looking good for him going out this year.

| Yes, it's Simplicity #8390 for kids, size 3-4/5-6/7-8. It's very simple. Not sure how skilled you are in sewing, but, it's pretty easy. You use fusible fleece to bulk it up. The pieces (mouth, ears, etc) are that craft foam. To make the lines on them, I just traced over them with black Sharpie, right from the pattern piece, and used glitter glue from Elmers to glitz it up!! It's too cute, I have to say!!! And now I know why I stress so much to "MAKE" their costumes. This is just TOO cute!!! Ha, I too, swear I'll start earlier (maybe day after Halloween this year??? LOL) but, DD kept changing her mind. Up until last week she was going to be a witch. Then she saw how much fun the pieces are to put on and take off of Mrs. Potato Head. If you have 2 little ones, you can do a Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. I'lll try to post a pic tonite of it.

My 9 1/2 year old DD decided on an egyptian queen costume she saw at Joann's...so we got that and the beaded headpiece. I also got some black washable hair color. My 4 year old DS saw the cover of Family Fun magazine and insisted on being a fried egg. LOL! So I got some foam board and painted a bowl yellow...and I'll give him a spatula to carry. Interesting combo to see TOT'ing! ![]() peapie |

I wore a Blues Brothers costume to work today myself. DS2 wants to be African American Jesus (he likes to push the envelope, stretch the imagination a bit ), but we haven't done his costume yet. cj

I'm embarrassed to tell ours but I'll do it anyway! LOL. We have a family costume theme... we are all wearing jeans and sweatshirts. On the shirt, I made big letter P with masking tape. We are all going to paint one of our eye areas black. Yep, we are going as "The Blackeye Peas". |

My oldest (11 YO) DS went as Dwight Schrute from "The Office". We put him in a suit and tie, glasses, parted his hair down the middle and gave him a name tag that read "Dwight Schrute, Assistant to the Regional Manager, Security Threat" with the Dundler Mifflin logo. We also printed out some Schrute Bucks for him to carry around. Youngest DS (9 YO) went as a gangster. His costume started out as a vacuum cleaner salesman (I was going to print him up a flyer to show to people that read 'OUR VACUUM CLEANERS SUCK!') but he liked the gangster angle better. Almost no one knew what they were but they did have fun explaining it to everyone. My poor 11YO DS had SO many people ask him if he was Harry Potter! Huh?! |

DH and I went to a party on Sat. as well-he and my best friend's husband went as the Blues Brothers. I wore my Mom's old discolored/ratty looking wedding dress and veil, fishnet stockings, and black short boots, and did my face to look dead. I had gray paint and baby powder in my hair-I was quite beautiful! haha My 17yr. old did Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat-they went door-to-door collecting items for the foodbank. He was a Red Sox player-what a stretch! My 14yr. old put on a Frankenstein mask to hang out in, but did not go T or T'ing. My 8yr.old was the Grim Reaper My 5yr. old was a Power Ranger. All in all, it was a good time! |
