The Today show just announced authorities have caught them and returned the boy home and placed her under arrest for kidnapping.

I dont understand why this happens either some peoples minds are just not "right"

I grew up by where that teacher was teaching. It was in our local paper last week. I can't believe that it made national news.

When the Today show talked about that over the weekend I was rather surprised, I know here they do not allow Illegal Immigrants into schools, but they allow the children of Illegals into school because they are born here. How and why did the school system allow him to attend school on Taxpayer money? I would hope in spite of his immigration status coming to light they still prosecute the teacher and not drop the ball because of it. As it teaches others absolutely nothing. No matter how many stories with teachers or online pedophiles and them being caught and reading about or even attending their court hearings I just cannot fathom their reasoning behind why they prey on children I am glad there are people and organizations who help with these things.

where i live, and in most states.. being in the us illegally is not something that keeps children from attending school.

the school system here is not allowed to inquire about 'status' as far as whether or not someone is illegally in the country...we were told we were required to serve all children and facilitate their education, whether or not they were legally in the us. we did have some rules on recordkeeping..for example the parent/guardian has to provide a birth record. at one school where i worked the majority of birth records were from mexico and the majority of children were in the country illegally. it did not matter, as far as the school system was concerned.
