Well, he passed the first test he took, so one fail doesn't make it prove anything one way or the other. Was the first one wrong or the second test? One thing that I found interesting that was said, was that the student that was on tonight brought it up that the teacher had married HER high school teacher. Made me go hmmmmmmmm

| I checked and it airs again next week - the 8th and the 9th (two part series) I can't wait to watch. Thanks for the heads up refundsrus. I might have to get a Season Pass to Dr Phil. He has some really good subjects sometimes.

| Yes...and when the male student brought that up, she got really defensive and said, "what does that have to do with it? Just because I married my high school teacher I am a pedophile?" Again, made me go "hmmmmmmmm"

I would like a little more background about the first test the boys took, and passed. From what little that was said about it, the first test was done by someone that the schools lawyers actually hired, not by an independent source. If I understood correctly it also was not done until......the accused teacher got a lawyer and went after the school for compensation. Kind of makes me wonder???? After the first show I wasn't sure what to think, but after the second show I really feel she is innocent. I think she did use bad judegment, but I do not think she had sex with the boys. I felt the young man on yesterdays show did not come off as being truthful. His story changed too many times...and when the results were given for the second test, it was obvious that he was being deceptive. Not by a little.....he failed it big time! From what I understand, the first boy that actually admitted to making the whole story up, was the mayors son. He changed his story when they could prove that the teacher wasn't even in town the day that he said the sex took place. I have to wonder if these three boys started this out of a fantasy, that spread like wildfire in this community. As for the teacher being wed to her former high school teacher, I believe they did not start dating until she graduated from college. So, she married an older man, don't see why that should be an issue. The state of Texas gave her back her teaching license, and admitted that they felt she did not molest the boys, but this town will not give her back her job.....because if they do, they admit they were wrong in firing her six years ago, and will have to pay her BIG bucks.... |

While I don't think she was a pedophile by any stretch, I think she used terrible judgement in the things she did with the male students. It's never a good idea to have teenage boys to your house. I mean, even the dumbest among us knows you have to have a professional relationship in this day and age.

I agree that she did show very poor judgement. But, with that said, I don't believe she should have to pay for her it the rest of her life. I work at a local High School and I have seen the way that a student can start a rumor and by the end of the day its all over the school and by the end of the week....its all over the town. Gossip in small towns can spread like crazy. I think its a very fine line for teachers between acting profesionally and trying to bond with their students and be a mentor. A young, new teacher often can have a very difficult time with this. There didn't seem to be any problems her first year while she was pregnant and not so attractive to these boys, the problems arose the second year when she returned to school. It was then that the school board said rumors started about her dressing *differently* (which I would imagine she did, since she was no longer pregnant). Nothing was ever said to her about her appearance, until....after she presented the school board with the lawsuit to get her job back, with back pay. The whole note thing did bother me a great deal. She did mention that the notes were written in front of other students and that other students heard her explain the code letters to the young man. I wonder if the other students were talked to, and what they had to say? I just felt that on Dr. Phil they didn't really didn't get into the whole note thing enough...it was presented without any time left to for an answer. I hope they do a follow up show about this. I would like to know more of the facts. |

She was exonerated of the charges at trial. I've read a bit on the Dr. Phil Message Boards and some locals posted saying that she is innocent and the boys are lying. Nothing like carrying a lie a bit too far. How can they live with themselves? So sad... all she wants to do is volunteer in her daughter's classroom (the child that she had just given birth to when the charges were made by the boys) and the school won't allow it so she sued the school. Otherwise, I think she might have let this go after the first trial. If her name was cleared in the first trial, why won't the school allow her to volunteer? This whole story really bothers me for some reason. Oh well.
