Cold Remedies??

What are your TNT cold remedies? Meds you think that work well, et cetera. Can be for coughs, chest, head.
I do enjoy the new Vicks tissues that are out.

the best one I have found and it really does work, ( i dont know why but it does) for a cough, cover your feet with VICK'S before going to bed. put a pair of socks on and dont take them off till am. then wash you feet. it will stop a cough in its tracks.

Echinacea tea or tablets as soon as you think you might be getting sick., I mean, as soon as your throat feels funny, or you're a bit too tired. I use the gummy bear echinacea for my husband.

Airborne the instant my throat feels scratchy. Haven't had a cold in over a year since I started using Airborne. Knock on wood.

My Granny used to do this! Of course, she made my older sister ingest vicks as well! (it didn't kill them, but it sure ticked my Daddy off!)

I've recently heard hydrogen peroxide in the ear will help but haven't been sick since reading it so can't give first hand experience.

Soothe your throat and nasal passages with hot tea with some honey. Chicken soup with noodles has actually been proven to help. Zinc cough drops is suppose to help too. I heard Airborne, as Cuthie suggested is also suppose to help. We sometimes use Mucinex. It is recommended by the allergist.
If you get stopped up, sit in your bathroom with the shower running as hot as you can get it and it clears things up (at least temporarily) and makes you feel better.
Gargling with salt water is suppose to help with the throat.
If you have a cool mist humidifier that also help with colds and coughs especially if you have the heat on in your house.
I drink alot of water and orange juice when I start feeling bad. It really seems to help.
Try to get as much rest as you can.

Hope you get to feeling better real soon!

Not sure about hydrogen peroxide for colds, but we've used it to get excess wax out of DS' ears. (pediatrition told us to use it)

After Cuthie mentioned Airborne in another post I tried it, even though I already had strept and sinus infection, and it cleared it up....DH who got strept just a day after I did and was on the same meds I was is still sick....Tried to get him to take it, but he wouldn't also made sure I took my Vitamin C......

I like the tissues with the menthol in them, and the chest patches with vicks too.......and I don't know if they even still make them, but those shower soothers......that you put in the floor of the shower, makes a hot shower even better if your stopped up and can't breathe.....
