Talking Monday Weigh-In....come and brag or get encouragement!

One week down and I am down .6 lbs which I am extremely happy with, especially with pigging out at Red Lobster for DH birthday. However, I was really good about working out, so thats probably why I saw progress on the scale this morning. Hope you all have a good week.....and if not remember today starts a whole new week

Polve,

I like how you posted our goal weight loss.......sure will help to keep seeing it in writing!

I am down 1.6 # but that isn't from being good or working out It is probably from that time of the month being done and water loss. I really need to bust my butt this week!

Boo Hoo! I am exactly the same. I lost a couple of pounds before Halloween and then I gained it back. So, I need encouragement to stay away from the candy.

I'm down 2 pounds. 8 to go! Drinking tons of water seems to help, although I have been less than diligent about my exercise...goal this week is to get back on track for exercising.

I am down 8 lbs right now, but I'm sure some of that will be back.

I was in the hospital on Friday-passed a kidney stone and haven't eaten much since Thursday.

Ummm that doesn't sound like much of a diet plan you might want to consider something else????

Well if it makes ya feel any better I gained 3 lbs over the weekend. I went out to eat and then went out for drinks and my brother's girlfriend ordered me a huge margarita. It was so good but I know so fattening.

Tamommy I hope you feel better I am still the same I need more motivation. I watched the news about the woman who won the NY Marathon they said she just had a baby in January and she looked so in shape I would have never thought she has a 10 month old they also said she worked out while pregnant too. That right there motivated me. I may never be fit enough to run the marathon but at least get into a size 10 again Good luck everyone

5/1/4.
I thought I blew it with Halloween. Had so much candy that day (didn't help it was that time of the month either). My 2 teen ds are joining me on this. I had them hide the candy for me. Cleaned out all the junk.
Trying to be good with the exercise, but that's not going to well. I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder that has been bothering me with the cold and exercising it makes it worse. Have been walking everyday for about 1 mile though.

Lost a whopping 1 pound.
I'm okay with that since I splurged a bit with the Halloween candy.

9 to go!

Hope your shoulder feels better soon judyrhirtle.

Could I have a Do-Over for last wwek please?? +1.5 lbs.

I will say in my defense though that I was pretty good about doing yoga and the eliptical everyday so I feel better even if not lighter.

LOL LOL LOL LOL ummm no.........and cj stop encouraging her!!! There are tons of reasons the scale could be up, that has nothing to do with your effort. Keep working out and the weight will come off.

Down .5 of a lb. Very happy because I hadn't lost any in the last 2 weeks. Hoping to loose 1 lb next week.

Great job to the rest of you!! Keep it up!

Lost a half a pound last week. I didn't cheat once all week, ate no more than 1,200 calories a day, did two miles on the treadmill every day and still only lost a half a pound. I don't know what else I could have done. I have lost a total of 6lbs, but that has taken me almost a month. I am hoping this week shows a better result. I am at 130 now, my goal is 125, but I would really like to get down to 122.
Its never taken me this long to take weight off before. I use to be able to take off several pounds a week, guess those days are gone! I am thinking it gets harder now that I am 45. But, I am not giving up...

I'm pumped. down 2.2 pounds. I'm on a 800 calories a day diet. My DR gave me a brochure to figure out how many calories I burn a day. I filled it out brutally honestly and found I only use up 782 calories a day!

My gym was supposed to open up on the 1st, but it is pushed back to the 12th so once I start going to the gym I'll be able to up my cal intake and still lose weight. (fingers crossed)

Of course on the 20th I'm off to visit my money in Las Vegas (the money I left there last time ) so from the 20th till the 23rd I'm OFF my diet but with all the walking we do it should even out.

Oh - y'all need to check out this site - it's FREE (not one of those diet sites that lure you through 6 pages then tell you it's going to cost $49.99 for them to tell you you're fat)

It's been great for helping me keep an honest track of my calorie intake and it has a similar questionnaire to the one my doc gave me to see how many calories you burn a day.

I was really, really bad the past week and a half and I was actually up 1.5lbs the night before last. This morning I actually weighed 1.5 lbs less than my starting weight??? How can you go to bed weighing one amount and then wake up weighing 1.5lbs less without any exercise or anything? Must have been water weight, but it is still a loss for now.

Good Luck All

I always weigh more at night. I always weigh in the morning. Nude, after my first "tinkle". That is the most accurate for me.

I'm not joing this diet, as I'm trying to gain weight right now from my malnutrition but just popped in to read how everyone is doing. It's frustrating after having my gastric bypass and constantly losing for 2 years, to mentally get into my head that I have to eat some carbs and stuff. I'm really trying to get better, but still just am trying to do a balance diet. For the past month I've been indulging once a week to my craving since my reversal surgery of eggplant parm. No pasta, and yes, I scrape off the mozzarella cheese, but I do eat the eggplant. and it must be from this one restaurant in town. It is to die for. I could eat it every night it's so good, but DD designated Thursday nights, my eggplant night since she got tired of me asking when she would feel like getting Italian ordered in. LOL

I also had my first cheeseburger in almost 3 years last week. I was dreaming of a diner cheeseburger. Thin patty, slice of cheese, slice of onion, tomato and a few pickles and a soft bun. Got my wish last week and it was SOOOOOOOOO good. DD was proud of me I actually ate "real food" as she calls it. LOL

Good Luck everyone!!

Everyone is doing good....we still have quite a few people that haven't check-in yet with their progress. Even if you didn't do good last week still post, hold yourself accountable. You will get better results if you talk about instead of hiding from it. Keep up the good work everyone else!

Curious about those of you on a diet of less than 1200 calories per day: is this ordered by your doctor? I only say this because I have often read that eating less than 1200 a day can trick your body into going into starvation mode and you might see less of a loss (or maybe even a gain) if you continue to eat a lower amount of calories.

I should add that I'm not a professional, doctor or dietician. Just some information gleaned from reading about basic metabolic rate, calorie intake vs output and suggested caloric ranges for losing weight.

Best of luck, girls.

As Mom says, our body and its organs *need* a certain amount of calories for basic function. Please check with your doctors and be very careful... some damage can be irreversible.

Here's to healthy goals!

Mom2RandD & Cuthie - You are both right. Had reg Dr appt yesterday and talked to him about my diet and he lit into me. Told me I was defeating the purpose of dieting. He said I needed to increase my metabolism and that means more food, more often.

I figured if a pound of fat = 3500 calories, I needed to decrease my calorie intake by 500 calories a day to lose 2 lbs a week. I guess it doesn't work that way.

In short I'm now eating between 1200-1500 a day, 6 small meals. So we'll see how that goes.

Quite frankly, I'm used to eating 2 meals a day and the 6 a day stuff is going to be a pain in the arse.

over the past 3 months or so I had started eating the 6 smaller meals, and I haven't been exercising at the time, and worked well, and I was steadily losing 1-2 lbs a week......It took me a while to get into the habit of it, but now it works better for me....and I don't have time to feel hungry either
