Do your dd ages 9 and above still play with dolls?

Another thread got me wondering how many older girls still played with dolls. My dd is 10 1/2 and would play Barbies for hours with the 12 year old across the street. She also wanted an American Girl doll for Christmas because this little girls had one and they wanted to play with them together. Well this wonderful little girl moved away and now my dd does not want any dolls for Christmas because there is nobody to play with. She does have a million dolls (LOL) and still plays by herself but this is the first Christmas where Barbies or Bratz are not on her list. She does want the Hannah Montana doll but that's it. It makes me kind of sad that girls grow up so fast now. She was very lucky to have a 12 year old 7th grader that still played with dolls. Now my dd still LOVES Littlest Pet Shop. The great thing about those is that even if you have over 100 of them they fit in a little box. LOL I know most of her friends (5th grade) love them too.

DD, 9, does not play with dolls - just stuffed animals. She has an American Girl doll, but it just sits in her room. She loves her stuffed toys and has a whole fantasy world created around them.

My DD who is also 9 has never played with a doll. I have always been kind of sad about this as I would have liked to play WITH her! But she was just never interested! Oh well.

MY DD is almost 12 and will still play with dolls depending on the situation. Some of her friends are past that stage and she does not play with dolls with them around. If she is with some of our friends younger girls 9 and 10, then she pulls out the barbies and polly pockets and has a blast. She will also spend hours and hours making dresses out of old fabric for her American Girl Doll.

I have to say - I feel exactly the same way. I loved Barbies as a kid and spent many hours playing with them. I have bought DD many of them over the years. The dolls end up just being given away. One of the most fun days I've had was at the American Girl store in NYC with my sister, mom, and DD. Guess who had the most fun - my sister and me!

My 9 and 11 year old dd don't play with dolls. Very sad, they too have the American Girl dolls and Bitty baby and had many Bratz and Barbies. I gave away the Bratz and Barbies but couldn't give away the American Girl dolls (I just love these dolls and would have killed to have one when I was little).

My 9 will pllay with My Littles Pet shop and also she will play with Playmobils with her brother.

My DD is almost 12 and still plays with dolls. She play with her American Girl dolls and not so much Barbie and Bratz anymore. There are no Barbie or Bratz on her Christmas list this year either. I myself love dolls and collect Madame Alexander dolls. My 22 year old requested an exact replacement of a 1985 Madame Alexander doll this year for her birthday that she got when she was about 3. I let her play with the original and she still has it, but it is ragged. So I had to hunt one down on Ebay for her birthday this last summer, she was thrilled! LOL. She collects Barbies.

My sister played with her Barbies until she was 13 - we joke and say she went directly from dolls to boys. I never did play with dolls as a child - could be because my closest sibling was a brother - the next youngest sibling was 5 years younger.

My dd who just turned 9 loves her dolls and still wants every single one she sees, to her their is no such thing as too many babies. She plays with her dolls, bratz, barbies, pollies, and the list goes on.

My 11 yo DD loves to play with her barbies. She takes over the livingroom and would rather just be left alone with her imagination. It is so good for her. She just could go for hours. She is home with bronchitis today and is very happy just playing by herself.
