Think ill tell DH I want this for Christmas

So I get my mail today and there is a Jewlery Catalog in it. Usually I just throw them out and don't pay attention. Well there was a picture on the back of a pretty sapphire and diamond bracelet that caught my eye. I look at the price and about fainted lol. $40,250.00 hahahahahahaha.

Description of the bracelet: Platinum cushion cut sapphire and asscher cut diamond bracelet 20.15 cttw.

I look at the name on the catalog and yep it's my name and my address. Look through the book and all the jewlery is like that. I thought to myself who the heck thought I could afford that kind of money for jewlery. Heck anything for that matter. It makes me laugh that me of all people is on a high end mailing list like that. With that bracelet I could buy my car 2xs.

My DH is always telling me to highlight things I would like for Christmas, I think i'll highlight the bracelet and see his reaction when he notices the price. For that price that bracelet better do dishes, laundry and windows too.

Tape it to the frig so he won't miss it. I only paid a little more for my house. lol If someone got that for me I would be afraid to wear it. If you lost it I'm sure if you had that much money you would have it insured but what if someone tried to steal it while you were wearing it. Besides the fact my entire lifestyle would HAVE to change just so I could take the ring out to places that would appreciate it. hahahahaha

Keowa,
Do you think he will get it for you?

Probably about as likely as it would be for my DH to get it for me! LOL.
If he bought me anything half that expensive he would tell me to stay out of dark alleys because someone would cut my arm off to take it!

Like I told our kids you can WANT anything ~ BUT ~ it is getting it that counts!

I am very cautious about what I say , even jokingly, in front of DH. He loves to buy me gifts, and thinks every mention of something coming out of my mouth, he has to buy for me. It's good AND bad. Now, a $40k piece of jewelry?? I think I could safely say he would NOT buy me that.

Yeah DH would never buy me that........not because of the price ( well that too) but my DDDH can go into any jewelry store and he picks out the ugliest most expensive jewelry they have, and buy it for me (he thinks its gorgeous) This necklace is way to pretty, DH probably wouldn't even notice it. LOL DH is forbidden to buy me jewelry!

LOLOL sounds like my ex - our first Christmas together he bought me the biggest ugliest cocktail type ring I have ever seen. I am NOT the cocktail ring kind of girl! I begged him to let me take it back but he loved it. That was 12 yrs ago and I've probably put it on 6 times. He had no taste.

I bookmarked that page to show DH tonight, he'll love it! Really beautiful, but I wonder even if I could afford it, would I buy something that expensive? It's a necklace for goodness sake, that money could buy a house for a family in need?

Yeah I would never honestly ask for something like that and mean it. The only reason I showed it to DH was to see his face when he saw the price. I could think of so many other things to spend that kind of money on. ( If I had that kind of money)

It just amazes me that people have that kind of disposable income to buy things like that. In the same catalog there is a bracelet on sale for $82,000.00 can you imagine just being able to afford to buy something like? I mean to spend 10s of thousands of dollars on a piece of jewlery these people wear a couple times a year and throw in a safe. And you know if they can afford one piece they probably have multiple pieces in those price ranges.
