The other post talking about my dream and my brother got me thinking.

I have 3 brothers and 1 1/2 sister who I never knew because she was born before I was and died a couple of weeks after she was born. My 2 oldest brothers are actually my 1/2 brothers too (even the one that passed away)but since I grew up having them in my life it is hard for me to even call them my 1/2 brothers since they were there when I was born. In fact it kind of makes me mad if someone brings up the fact they are only my half brothers. I feel no different about them then I do my younger brother who is my full blood. I couldn't choose one over the other. I know they would have and would do anything to protect me and I feel the same with them. We can pick on each other but don't ANYONE else DARE to say anything about my brothers!!! It's wierd but I will stand up and defend them before my parents, is that wrong?? I get mad if my parents would say anything about them.

I'm the same exact way with my parents.I'm always defending my brother.My mom always criticizes my brother when talking to me and I defend him every time. I get irritated when anyone says anything bad about my brother,especially if its family because I always felt family should "be there" for each other no matter what.

Two. A brother 12 years older than me who I have not spoken with in 8 years (and lives just a little over an hour away), and a sister 6 years older who I e-mail several times a week and talk on the phone with at least once a month (we're 2000 miles apart). Both parents deceased 10+ years. Can anyone say dysfunctional?

I have an older brother who is closest in age to me and 3 sisters who are quite a bit younger. We are all very close now and enjoy visiting with each other.

I do not talk with any of my extended family. We were raised in a dysfunctional family & I refuse to have my kids around their craziness.

I had a sister 2 years older than me that died 2 days after she was born.
Then me.
Then a sister 2 years younger than me.
Then a sister 5 years younger than me.

I have a brother that is 10 years younger than me. Because of the age difference, it often feels like we weren't raised together. But, he is my baby bro and I can talk about him and his ways, but no one else can, lol. Yea, I am protective of him :0)

Also, For the last 4 years, I gained a step-sister that I have never met. She lives a few states away.

My brother is 6 years younger than me, my sister is 13 years younger... we used to pick on her a lot (ice cubes in the diapers and so on...) and until we moved, she would come over and watch my kids. My kids have no cousins, by the time they have some (if ever?) they'll probably be old enough to babysit them...

My husband has a half-sister that is 1 month younger than my sister.

Tom is the "special" one he has mental and physical problems. My Mom always took care or helped him and now that she has passed it is my duty to care for him. The one that I hated the most growing up is the one that I take care of; go figure.

I'm the baby of the family too I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters. My oldest brother is 57, and I'm 39. One of my brothers died a few years back.

My mom has 15 natural brothers and sisters and 5 stepbrothers and sisters. The oldest brother is 93! His wife just turned 90 yesterday and they have been married for 75 years!!!!!! Our family reunion is HUGE!

I have one sister who is 16 yrs younger than I am. We have different fathers but I never call her my half sister. She and I are very close even with the age difference. I also have an adopted brother who is around 3 or 4 but I have never met him. I have no contact with my bio father and his wife.

All from my dad's side of family. I haven't talked to my half sister in a couple years and I haven't talked to my step sister in several years. My step brother that is 2 years older and I are very close. My step brother many years older and I have only met 3 times.

Sister - two years older. Brother - four years younger. Not in close contact with either. They both live in Florida some 1200 miles away.

Valorian - I have the same issue with my boys and fighting. It is really a competitive thing. Competitive over anything.....right down to the last biscuit. Um, nobody's going hungry, boys! LOL. At 13 and 18, I see glimmers of hope that this will pass....there are moments when they seem to be maturing a bit. Fingers crossed....
