How often do you run to the store?

I usually do a bi-weekly grocery shopping, then back in on the off week to get bread, milk, etc....I don't think that's abnormal.....of course, everyonce in a while I will have to run out more then that if forget something. A couple of my friends go to the store just about everyday....and thats a lot to me, especially with gas prices going back up...

How often do you go?

I do major shopping once every 2 or 3 weeks with trips between to get milk. Currently I m going to Target almost everyday (I have to drive past it to get my niece from school) to get more Polly Pockets.

I do my major shopping twice a month, but once a week, I run and pick up milk, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables. I pre-plan my meals ahead of time so when I got grocery shopping I pick up anything I am going to need to make the meals. When we lived in the city I went more often, just because we didn't have the storage for two weeks worth at a time. Now I know my neighbor goes everyday it drives me insane, I want to ask him if he wants me to buy his groceries once a week for him. Maybe it gives him something to do since his wife past and he retired. But he has a commercial grade refridge, why have something that big if you are going to buy one apple and 1/8 lb of ham at a time. It's not like his fridge is leftover from his wife, he just bought it 3 months ago.......

I usually go 1 time a week for the basics- but sometimes I'll run in almost everyday -but only because DD#2's school is next door to it and to drop her off you have to go through the store parking lot.

I work in a grocery store so I usually don't have to make a special trip to the store. I pickup what ever I need during the week.

My great grandfather would do that! He had two refrigerators and two freezers, and after my great grandmother passed away he would make a daily trip to the grocery store, gas station, and a newstand.....He needed the human contact. He would chat up a couple people at each place, and you could tell he was always sad to go back home....

Usually once a week. I only buy meat when it is on sale and stock up the freezer at that time. Sometimes, I'll ask DH stop on the way home from work to pick up milk but that is pretty rare.

I usually go 3-4 times a week to the grocery store to do double coupons (you can only used 1 like coupon at a time). The double coupon store is in the town that I work in (25 miles away) so I don't make a special trip just to go to the store, but I do run any errands after I get off work and while I am in town.

About two, sometimes three times a week.
Major shopping is usually either Saturday or Sunday. Then sometimes during the week I run in to pick up something forgotten or something we've run out of.

I really hate grocery shopping too. Blech.

I do a major grocery shop about twice a month. Between that, I go to Super Target a few times a week and while I'm there pick up fresh items we need (milk, OJ, fruit & veggies, meat, etc.). I HATE to grocery shop, but Super Target has at least made it bareable.

Almost everyday, but I usually walk, or stop in when driving by. We eat a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and fish.

I know when my parents got older, and dad retired, his "routine" every morning was to go to Grand Union for the paper. Mom would make a list if she needed something from the store and he would pick it up. Fast forward, when she died, he still did this until he couldn't do it anymore. I think it was for the interaction as well. When he got sick and couldn't go anymore, I would stop and get the paper every day. Back then I shopped once a week, and would get his "list" and do his as well, but he always called each morning to want me to bring something...juice, or tissues, or some obscure item. I think it was his way of making sure I popped in that day as he was lonely.

I do a "big shop" every few weeks, but when I got sick I did the "online and delivery" shop every two weeks. I am getting better, and trying to get out, so I tend to go a few times a week, mainly for fresh veggies and salad fixin's. I need to do this, as I can't carry alot and tend to wear out alot with the "big shop" and can't seem to get one of the family to go with me. The online shopping was GREAT. I did find I was missing out on certain new flavors coming out, or missing the "new items" if the site was not updated w/ these things. Probably spent less than I do now though.

You probably right, he also is normally outside when DS is dropped off the bus 4 out of 5 days a week. He talks to DS for about 3-5 minutes everyday, DS loves it since he grandparents live so far away. Its funny though, cause I think he is running out of reasons to be outside since its getting colder....but he still comes out. He use to start gardening about 10 minutes before the bus came, then it was raking, now he says he just needs to breathe in some cool air. I just want to tell him he can talk to DS without a reason, but I don't want to embarrass him.

I don't know how friendly you are with him, but maybe you could invite him over for coffee or dinner or something, and just mention how much your son likes talking to him.....
